Rookie of the year?

Do we have a Rookie of the year in our side this year?

You would have to think Porter and Fergo would be up there. I think it should go to Fergo, he has been great for us all year and has really turned it on since being moved to the wing.

Welcome to Emu Plains, please be sure to visit our
our boys have a chance but we know sharks dont get recognised when it comes to awards, just look at last year and the dally M awards

apart from our boys..

Antonio Winterstein - Broncos
Jamal Idris - Dogs (injury has ruined his chances)

Jamal Idris played a few games last year peach.

Someone mentioned Tamone, I forgot all about him he would be up there with a shot for sure.

A rookie can be any age, It just has to be their first year in the NRL. Dougie and Snowy are not Rookies.

I can't see Fergo getting it, he was sensational last night but has been very inconsistent the rest of the season. Too many errors and missed tackles. Hope he turned the corner last night.
On the other hand, Porter hasn't put a foot wrong since making his debut, if he keeps it up he could be a shot but he has only played a few games so far.

agreed and stapelton

This one is the dark horse IMO. Stapleton has been electrifying since making his debut, made a stack of line breaks and has a very low error count. If he keeps it up he could be a real contender.

Unfortunately I think for Porter or Stapo to get the recognition they deserve I believe the Sharks need to make the 8 and maybe even the semi finals.

i would like to see one of the boys get recognised as rookie of the year, but if they dont its no big deal. For me i think stapo would get it.

Ah k. Thought it was an age thing. I guess tht would be youngster of the year or something. Porter, Stapleton and Ferguson definently up with a chance if they continue their form.

Would like to see Porter get rookie of the year but as a lot of you have said, the Sharks hardly get recognised at end of year awards. It'll probably go to Winterstein, Tomane or Alex Glenn

If, IF we get to the finals, then id say porter will win rookie of the yr.

Before porter, up sh it creek, after porter semi final football, he has to be the best rookie in the league.

If Bryson Goodwin still counts as a rookie he would be the favourite at this stage, otherwise all of these guys are still a chance, but this award usually goes to a player in a semi-final team. Kevin Gordon has probably had the buggest impact of any of these players and has played nearly every game.

Tim Moltzen
Jamal Idris
Antonio Winterstein
Gary Warburton
Kevin Gordon
Esi Tonga
Nathan Stapleton
Blake Ferguson
Joseph Tomane
Kevin Locke

All played games last year, not Rookies anymore.
