Article today mentions that Chad was playing injured. Was obvious to me in the first five minutes that he wasn’t right. Kyle was doing the kicking and was way more involved.

Chad is doubtful for next week apparently. Might end up with Moylan-Kyle halves pairing for a game or two.

What a disappointing game. Can't believe we made Brendan Elliot look that good.

- Dugan's errors are killing us and are unacceptable for a player of his pedigree. If Moylan isn't ready next week I'd be tempted to put Morris back there just so we'd know our fullback can catch.
- On Morris, didn't do his SOO chances any good with that missed tackle on Elliot.
- Fifita is obviously playing injured. Either give him a week off or play him for a lot less minutes. He was a shadow of himself out there.
- As they've done a few times already this year, Uele and Williams were awesome off the bench. I never thought I'd be waiting for Fifita and Prior to come off the field, but you just know the young boys will bring so much energy.
- Jayden was good again, and I'm glad to see him running more and showing how much of a threat he is. But if we've put our eggs in the Blayke basket he needs to start seeing some more minutes. We're just continuing to develop Jayden for another team.
- Xerri. We all know he's a 10 year player, but would it do some good to give him a week or two in reserve grade? He's making some basic handling errors each week, and maybe a rest (and a gentle kick up the bum) might help.

Anyway, we've done very well over the last few weeks but the team is looking tired. Bring on the bye and bring back the troops.

Any chance we see Trindall play? Would like to see Moylan back at 1 ASAP.

Not looking forward to next week without Chad. Dragons will be up for a big game after being thrashed by Knights, and they're the only team worse losing to than Manly...

Looking at the stats Capewell missed 12 tackles, that’s more than a third of our total for the game.

He also missed 12 against the Broncos and only made 30. In contrast Fifita made 50 tackles that game and only missed 2.

Going back further he missed the most against the storm, Panthers Eels, Titans (R2) and knights

Is there a reason he would be missing this many tackles? Is he just being targeted (any smart coach would based on these numbers). Because he’s become a liability.

Capewell has been making some bad defensive reads lately. Graham back can't come soon enough.

Outside of his Utility cover he wouldn't make my team when fully fit.

8. Fifita
9. J Brailey
10. Prior
11. Nikora
12. Graham
13. Williams (I seriously believe we need to start him, Gallen for me can provide some experience off the bench when their forwards are a bit more tired, some early line speed from Williams in games would be useful)

14. B Brailey
15. Gallen
16. Woods
17. Uele

for me that is our best pack on current form, I would think Nikora could fill in at Center if we required a re shuffle.
(I also think Prior and Fifita should be put on notice as Uele is killing it)

That is a great pack. Bukuya and Capewell sitting out makes me think Gallen is really the most on notice there. That is if you are only as good as your last game of course.

The sharks had something like 10 penalties in a row.

And because they (Manly) played pretty well we didn't really take advantage of that much.

Might have been a different ball game without the BS ones against us in the first half.
Might have also been a different game if our guys had showed up to play...

Why can't we beat these blokes? It's deadset psychological, it has to be. 2 wins from the last 18 games, far out....

- True, and he should be making less, but it is a position where some of these errors can just happen unless you have the elite FBs. If our forwards aren't getting dominated Dugan gets easier kicks. Can't* wait for Moylan to get back but I'm not on board the Dugan should never play fullback again train, he's our next best option. I said put Morris there weeks ago to protect Dugan but at this stage, assuming Moyza is back week after bye at the latest, may as well leave Morris at centre.
- A bad miss like that against Brisbane too. Lapses in concentration? Overestimating himself?
- Fifita has been playing injured since he did his PCL last year though right? He hasn't looked the same in general. Fit enough to play, but not quite right. Unfortunately it could be a months and months to get it right and hard to make him miss extended period when he's still playing 'okay' mostly and still able to have big games.
- Prior used to bring that energy. Where has he gone? Don't get me wrong he's solid but this time last year he was being talked about for Origin. In 2016 him and Fififta were our joint team Player of the Year weren't they? Fifita is injured, whats Priors excuse. Could be worth starting Uele a few games and see if it wakes Prior up.
- Always a pickle whether you hamstring your own season rather than play someone because they'll sign somewhere else. Jayden has next year with us and hasn't signed anywhere else at this stage. If Bomber thinks he's using the best rotation I don't think we should go away from it just because eventually Jayden will play elsewhere. Might as well only play Gallen if that was our policy. Another story if/when he signs elsewhere or we if we are out of contention late in the season.
- Agree that this would be good but our wingers are just so grim. Ideal would be when Moyza comes back drop Xerri and move Dugan to centres until Xerri is impossible to leave out again and then drop a winger and push Dugan out. But Xerri is better than our 2nd best winger so we need him to stay in the side (Dugan is our best winger)

*I actually can wait. Rather see Moylan miss another week or two than come back to soon.

If it was isolated to the last couple years I'd say they are treating it as a legit rivalry and we aren't (compared to Dragons, Melbourne, Canberra) but the historical record against us is crazy.
Just pencil Manly games in as a sure loss and maybe once a decade we'll be pleasantly surprised...

Isn't he having issues with his neck or shoulder?

Not looking forward to next week without Chad. Dragons will be up for a big game after being thrashed by Knights, and they're the only team worse losing to than Manly...

If Moylan is fit the NRL would not allow Trindall to play (without a contract upgrade). He's a development player, and even if the fans don't like it the team still has the option to play Dugan at 1 and Moylan at 6 so the NRL wouldn't give dispensation for Trindall. If Moylan is unfit or doubtful the club can ask permission for Trindall to be included in the 21 on the basis that we don't have 2 fit players in our top 30 who are halves.

There are salary cap impacts when a dev player makes it in to the 17 though - so as ugly as it might look on paper it might actually be better in the bigger picture to play one of Dugan or Kennedy at 6. If Trindall plays 1 game it means his entire base salary (minimum $60k but possibly more) plus any fg bonuses will count against the cap for the year. Given we are already running close to the cap this may not be justifiable for him to play just one game.

Of course it's also possible that he is already in the top 30 ...

Good points Burgess. And yes HB -- Prior has some nerve damage apparently. It's just such a shame to see him and Fifs playing so poorly (by their standards).

Regardless of whether the NRL would allow him to play or not Trindall is not even close to ready imo.

This time next year we might have a better idea.

He's still eligible for Flegg so he's a kid who needs time. Great that he's playing up a grade though.

Yeah, has that been all season though?
Either way he has been below his standard all season but if it is all the injury then it'd might no make much difference to bench him but wouldn't make him any worse.

I hoped manly owning us in the forward battle.. really stings our boys into maintaining and channeling the rage all week at training and unload it on the dragons.
