I haven't managed to watch the game, was Chad benched from the halves, and if so who replaced him?

They blow penalties for the most unneccessary things. For both sides. If it's blatant, then yes give the penalty but some of those ruck penalties were soft as. Didn't need to be given.
And they blow the penalty so late sometimes. The ball's almost been played before you hear the whistle. That's because of the two refs thingy - they're having a chat about it before deciding if it's a penalty.

Have to go back to one ref - and only refer decisions to the bunker if they aren't sure. Don't say try or no try just go upstairs and say you're not sure and make a bloody decision.

I saw a couple of times the pocket ref made a call and then the other changed the call. Seemed like they weren't on the same page most of the time.

Can say it either way, if fifita pushed up more it doesn't happen either. Comes down to communication.

This is true. I'd say Capewell running up wasn't a good call but a bit of communication from either player could haves fixed it.

Reckon we still win if hodgson hadn't gone off ?
yes, from late in the second half we were already starting to expose them up the middle and through the ruck. Hodgo couldn't have stopped all of that flow and he probably wouldn't have laid on another try as our defense really tightened up. Then again Baptise made a meal of that break in the second half where he went himself on our line instead of passing, that hair cut must have made him feel Robbo like

Just finished watching the replay. A few notes:

- What is getting ignored in the Capewell-o-mania here is that the first try was his mistake. He ran up on his instead instead of with the line. Poor play on that. Great game otherwise.
- Great game from Feki
- Great defensive game from Leutele. He gets a hard time here for his defence but he was great
- Chad had poor handling, but had some nice kicks early and his defense was spot on
- There was a definite shift in the attacking mentality at the 60 minute mark (when Chad went off) but this could have been a message of intent from Flanno (loosen the screws boys) than an actual result of the interchange

Thanks mate, you've saved me typing pretty much the exact same thing!

Chad started pretty well, but later it was like he and Lewis had never met before. Chad looked really rattled. I think it's more likely he was hooked because of his state of mind as much as any particular play.

Its really impossible to know. The would have all but certainly scored off that papali break. Which in turn would have forced us to go for points rather than take the penalty goals. With the momentum I think we could have still got there.

Watching the replay closely, Lewy and barba gave Chad some serious stink eye during the 1st 60 minutes.

Yeah - but who is to say the games pans out the same way. For all we know Hodgson takes that hit up instead of Papalli if he is on the park. All we can say is that losing their best player certainly had an impact, but his injury came after momentum had already shifted.

I agree with you Chad re one ref. I have seen a bit of the Pommy Super League and the whole ruck area is clean and even handed, even the lines men have a say and are listened to.

Their games flows a lot more than ours the refs don't cop a lot of back chat and rubbish nor head highs etc.
