I found it funny all season we heard everyone crying about refs blowing too much whistle, this finals series theyve been good with that and the same people are now sooking about things not being pulled up.

The games are flowing and so far all 5 finals matches have been entertaining

Friday night game probably good for tv ratings. But crap for most with work. If was Saturday night or Sunday arvo
Easy 25,000 crowd.

Again Fridays not a problem for the other codes punters, an all Sydney final in Sydney should draw 30k at 1am, I get that it was the least two popular teams in Sydney but still the footy has been so good, anyway NRL need to start winding back their aspirations before they look (even more) stupid.

I’m so torn with this sport, I love the sharks, and I love rugby league, I’ve tried other codes and always comeback to league, but literally everything else involved with the NRL I hate. From the top down.

A few years ago I felt like we where getting somewhere now I just think the NRL is a running joke to everyone else in Australia bar the hardcore fan, even casual fans take the piss now, and it’s only going to get worse, soon we will be where union is (without the super wealthy supporters) and no one wants that.

Whats the solution then champ?

Seriously everyone likes to bag the NRL for this but come up sith a solution? Ticket prices? Do we really think they are unreasonable? Compared to a movie ticket or a night at ten pin bowling or something with the kids? Food prices are high, but have u ever been to movie world?

People choose not to go. Sfs isnt highly accessable like the MCG, AFL seems to be a social outting which is about more than the game. Everyone goes. Families, large groups of friends, work colleagues. Half of em are probably just there to be there.

NRL is shown so well on tv also, thats the biggest downfall in the whole crowds debate. The tv package is too good. But to me you cannot beat game day atmosphere even when the crowds not huge. You take any kid to his first game at a ground and they’d feel the same.

Melbourne sports culture can’t compare to anywhere else in Oz .. I really think a lot of it comes from how easy it is to get around to and from grounds pubs eateries afterward watering holes. I’ve lived here 30plus years and it still amazes me.

Well the two teams come from very specific geographical areas. Both not particularly close to the football stadium. People have other stuff on in their lives too (work) and can’t just take an arvo off work to go to the footy.

Sorry mate don’t agree. I was there last night in the Sharks supporters bay and had no trouble getting a beer.

Behind the posts was terrible. Beer taps weren’t even hooked up.

Week before no one even knew how to pour a beer. They were tipping most of it out

Temporary staff with no idea how to operate.

NRL is to blame for that

Excuses. Melbourne Hawthorn Game was a Friday night as well.

Not using it as a excuse. Melbourne / hawthorn are particularly next door to the G.
Doubt many panthers supporters are going to make the effort after work to drive in peak hour traffic to the sfs.

The bold bit translates to me like "I'm straight, tried sucking cock, came back to pussy".

RL dominates TV, AFL dominates attendance. RU and soccer are so far off they don't rate a mention.

Oh please, it wouldn't matter what two AFL teams were in a semi. Even if it was Geelong Vs blood freemantle they would still pull 50k supporters.

It's been said before but the best way to see AFL is live. There's stuff happening all over the field that doesn't translate to TV. Rugby League on the other hand translates perfectly to television, most of the action is happening within an area that can be framed effectively.

Not saying that NRL isn't better live as well, just that it's more suited to TV than AFL.

Maybe if they built a stadium over central station instead of doubling down on the current two ****holes they would get better crowds.
