apparently we haven't won a 2nd round finals game since 2003 but with so many changes in coaching and players over 15 years it really doesn't count for much that stat

getting penrith this week is the best result we could hope for beyond beating the roosters on the weekend. we know we have their measure, play again at Allianz and really the Warriors were exhausted and gave up in the second half against the panthers, terrible attitude from those blokes. We are a serious test for them, a proper team, Warriors were just there for lols. playing like we did last night against the roosters would destroy most other teams

also we get to rub it in jimmy momoney's face for the 3rd time this year

we are only 80 mins away from a prelim and where we should have been anyway. the bad news is it puts us on the melbourne side of the draw. yes our record against them in recent years is enviable but a prelim against the storm and at storm drain park is a nightmare. surely you would think they are due to beat us sometime soon and bellamy would come up with an appropriate course of action. ah well we are a better chance than any other team, get it done this week and go from there

Fingers crossed for a win. It would mean I'd get to go to the prelim in Melbourne

I'm not quite sure i could cope with a loss to this mob.

Really hope we get the same effort we got from our boys against the roosters with a touch better execution.

I don't think I can handle losing to the Panthers - the smug look on Maloney and Gould's face will be too much.

Any forward pack with Tamou in it isn't worth respecting, we will strangle them out of the game while putting on the points. They won't have answers

Maloney will still ask them for a payrise before leaving for another club

Moylan will be voted sexiest of the game

In your head, rent free
penriths pack is good but lazy

tamou and merrin are very lazy

kikau, CHN and JFH are all big units that struggle laterally later in the game

again, if we shut down the offloads, we win the game

funny they have similar view about shutting down the offloads to win the game

but our sweep plays especially on the left with holmes have become dangerous as well and chads got some nice kicks in behind the line

bring in seggy from dummy half and there is a number of avenues the pennies have to keep an eye on. good line speed will give their halves a very tough game

To beat Penrith it is all about line speed, pressure, aggression and consistency.

They like to throw the ball around so you need to apply the pressure and cut down their time so the passes don't stick. Do this for a while and they will self implode.

I hope Maloney has a brainsnap moment like he did for us and ****s it for them. Then we can say we got the better end of the deal

That would've worked against the rorters too...

As much as I would love to get to and win another grand final I think getting to a prelim is still signs of a good year, getting the change to play for a spot at the big one. If we bow out in straight sets this week I honestly think questions need to be asked. Finishing equal first there is an expectation and after our performance on Saturday night it shows when we play our best we can beat anyone.
I’m nervous but excited for this game - I think we will be on and the panthers could be in for a tough night at the office. Will be my last chance to see them live bar the grand final if we are good enough to get there. Up up!

3 passes stick last Saturday we win and probably win well cause I'd say we'd obviously have more ball, momentum and confidence to put a couple more on. Even without those 3 missed if Lewy scores we go even. Our execution cost us, who knows what caused that - nerves, eagerness, whatever - we bring everything from Saturday and add better execution we win.

Hope Ramien is back running at/over Maloney.

Atleast we went in with a better attitude than last year 1st round of the finals against the cows, then post game tried to blame everyone bar our own stupid penalty giving mistake making team. I saw similar positive things in Saturday’s game like the 2016 final home/away game against storm created more than enough just didn’t quite execute I’m hoping there the vibes the current team has cause we know what happened those last 3 games in 2016.

They completed over 90% and we lost due to bombing three trg scoring opportunities, and maybe some ref calls in their favour. Our game plan was on point. Our execution was off for the critical moments.

Re watched the game and man we looked good for most of the game, how unlucky must we have been to not get over the line several times was unreal.

Gus came out and said that we were the better side and should have won and it’s probably the first time I’ve ever agreed with him.

Maybe it’s all happened for a reason. I’d probably rather play Melbourne in the prelim then a rampaging bunnies side. I think the roosters will struggle especially without Napa and Latrell and could be in for a long night

I’ve been saying it for a while now that it would be a sharks vs souths grandfinal and maybe thefooty gods are ensuring it happens

Still a long way to go but beat the panthers and we set ourselves up with a great chance to take on an over confident Melbourne side who we seem to have the wood over.
