I don't get why when we are pinned in our half and we wait on the 5th to do a clearing kick while there are three backs waiting to catch on the full.

Why aren't we doing clearing kicks on the 4th when usually it's the opposition fullback is on his own?
Pretty common for open side winger to be dropped on 4
We did try a kick on three though

I get it, but he has plenty of very good experience in ressies which he can draw on.

There are times when an inexperienced up and comer needs to take the reins for the better of the team (especially when the main guy is running like a rusty engine).
The second half of this game seemed like a good opportunity
Trindall had ball 52 times this game, to Hynes 59

I get confused when he decides to run the ball.

He’s a big half and he has a good knack of knowing when to run, but it’s like he stops in the line to avoid contact.

I think all the other teams will target Nicho with large forwards to wear him out. We all know that fatigue creates wrong decisions. Maybe we just need to hit the big forwards with everything we have and swap the halves to each side of the field through the game.

Still pretty pissed with this bloke.

Don't care about the two kicks out on the full. Sure, not great but **** happens.

The lack of enthusiasm though for a million dollar player is just utter bullshit.

Was he lacking enthusiasm or completely rattled? I saw it as the latter.

Either way it's a bad sign.

Think we need either an experienced, level-headed half on the books, or a specialist halves coach with a winning mentality.

Mate the one where he didn't mop up the ball was not being rattled imo.

Agree though, if he was rattled that's a very worrying sign.

I look at the other halves in the comp on 7 figures and I just don't see him as being on their level despite dally m votes which I couldn't give a rat's about.

I'm putting it down to just one of those games. Every player has one. Sharks beat Newcastle once with both Johns brothers by 50 points (30 nil at half time)

Let's see how he bounces back and judge him next week

Yeah I still reckon there's a chance he was sick or carrying a niggling injury, you never really know what they're carrying into the game.

Just a couple of times near the end where he didn't even chase or back up, which was very uncharacteristic.

I did notice one instance near the end of the game... went sideways to try and create some space for Katoa. Stayed down after getting hit and it made me wonder if he was ok.

Hopefully that's all it was, would explain it.

Hopefully... he started on fire and after the first 20 mins IMO was almost the best player on the park. Did get run over a couple of times in defense though and may have picked up a knock?

I actually missed the start, so yeah maybe it was just an off day.

Seemed to all change with that first kick out on the full... based on the first 2 games, I'm surprised he didn't get up having a go at the ref about the tackle in the air.

I thought it should have been a penalty based on what I've seen so far this year.

It was actually 42-0 at halftime if it is the 64-14 game at Shark Park you are talking about.
