His mistake was picking NIcho on the bench for game 1. Going with Moses for game two was absolutely the right decision.
Makes you wonder why Moses wasn't in the extended squad from game 1 then. If Cleary went down during training prior to game 1 I'm sure the plan was for Nicho slip into 7 - not rush Moses in.

You're right though - this all comes down for him picking Nicho on the bench. Should have gone with Burton.

I believe this period will define Nicho going forward , after a great first season and a reasonable start this year things have gone a little bit pear shaped . Personally i believe last weeks performance was just a result of putting too much pressure on himself leading into SOO2 selections after the SOO1 debacle and a couple of ordinary league games , this has put him in a position quite unfamiliar to him .

I'm sure there has been conversations with the coaching group and senior players and he will pull his game back a little and just go through his processes and will find his true form again .

Every good player goes this sort of off period and if they are strong enough come through as stronger and better players . Nicho is mentally stronger than many with the issues he has dealt with so far in his life and career and i have no doubt he will be a better player for having had to deal with them .

In years to come this period could be looked upon as a watershed period for him . I know every Cronulla supporter is behind him .

honestly just think munster is in his head. Hes sort of had it over nicho everytime they've come up against each other, and nicho's choked everytime. he'll carve the dogs this weekend if the rest of the team show up to play. hopefully nicho (and his teammates) are a bit more confident and arrogent next time they meet

Yep and I dont think this solely related to Munster, there are others. But I think its not just intimidation of others but confidence in structuring both defence and attack. Kennedy and Moylan seem to be taking over here to fill the void left by Nicho. Individually, brilliant at times but play setting needs work. Fitz will fix ( im hoping).

Munster knows he can chill and pick his moments while Hughes does what he needs to do meanwhile Hynes has to do it all because if he left it to Moylan like that we would be side to side riddled with average kicks on the last

whoever it is whether it’s Hughes or Hynes partnering Moylan they will definitely suffer from making up for Moylans deficiencies

Yep, been saying this for a while.

Hynes is the closest player in the game to Munster imo, no reason why he can't be almost as good.

I think to many people shift the blame from nicho and blame others

He and the coach want him to be the leader, we are about to pay him a truck load to do so, he simply needs to get better

Like I said before, put tricky in there by all means, but I can't see nicho wanting to take on less responsibility, he simply isn't that type of player

But isn't Munster the leader of Melbourne and gets paid a truckload?

Munster doesn't feel the need to overdo it.

Im not convinced he is a 7.

He is the type who is an eyes up guy but not an organiser.
