Easy to miss him in hindsight.
Very true. Seems like they're under the same impression over on their forum. Surplus at the time, but happy for him.

Couple of good comments over there

"Looks like he is moving to the peptide pumping sharks next year. I think he will regret his decision when he sees the Storm continue to beat teams while the sharks flop week after week"... And another mentioning how Nicho will never be a star at any team besides the storm.

Does anyone think Nicho is starting to have a very subtle subconcious bias effect on the referees? The Roosters gave us 14 penalties and 3 sin bins this week. Not saying they weren’t all legit , but I just get a sense that Nicho is possibly just starting to have an effect on the 50/50 calls … perhaps a bit like Cameron Smith did ?

Such a likeable dude and has changed the narrative for the Sharks in the way in which we are portrayed in the media…and referees are human just like the rest of us .

Absolutely & it's only gonna get better. We've got ourselves an NRL golden boy. Lord have mercy on anyone touching Nicho late off a kick or pass

Need more time to be able to see if that’s the case.

“I think I’m a traditional No.6"
Haha can someone check on the Hynes is a halfback brigade because this is another call that has turned out to be spot on

also check on the Trindall and Hynes can’t play well together brigade

Yeah strange he didn't come out and say I'm a 7 to try take the jersey off Cleary 🤔

The Dally M Medal winner, and Cronulla’s newly minted $7 million man, said he would be excited to play alongside Cleary.

“I think I’m a traditional No.6; he [Cleary] likes to play on ball, I like to be on that second or third layer with a good halfback,” Hynes said.

“If Nathan is controlling the game, I can pop up where I’m needed and try to manipulate defensive lines.

“I feel like my strengths are icing a three-on-two, or my running game, so if he can put me in positions to get my running game on, I feel like we’d work well together.

Does anyone think this is how he plays for Cronulla?

All I'm saying is that if Cleary was a 6, I doubt he'd be saying the same thing.

he’s a 6 through and through just like some of us were saying

Moylan can’t play 7 hence Hynes is our 7

He’s literally telling you his strengths and what he likes best..

“I want to try and be a leader of this team, I want to be a main player in this team - the guy that they look to on the field when it is needed,” Hynes said in his first interview as a Cronulla player.

“I just think that controlling the game was something I was good at when I was a bit younger so hopefully I can get back to that again.”
He sure is
