Yes spot on .

We all joked about the 6 and the 7 and it was all good banter , but I genuinely believe it would have eased the pressure by just switching the numbers , Riccio said the role change / tweak was going to happen going back 6 months - no secret .

I know it’s just a number and it doesn’t matter but the comparisons to other 7’s will not stop.
It also would give Tricky an extra lift .

As Wiz points out , you then compare him to the guys mentioned in the 6 - fair enough .

At the end of the day , I still back the guy all the way..
The boys came through the airport this evening.
While doing the explosive test on Nicho, jokingly I asked him whether he's playing 1, 6 or 7 on Saturday. He said he'll be playing all three. In retrospect I should have added 13 in there too. He came across pretty arrogant. Let's hope he can cut finally loose on Saturday. Blayke Brailey and Will Kennedy seem like good guys.

Hynes is already playing as the 6

The 7 thing is a ego/Fitz thing

Even though we are a pretty decent/solid team and only went down to the Premiers by a couple points Media want to pin in on Nicho and propose a positional switch as some how being the difference to our success

Yet we win that very close game (which could have happened with 1 adjustment and different outcome to play in attack or defense) and they are talking about big gamer Nicho getting his TA's and a win over Cleary and nothing about moving position

Yea he's on big money and hasn't been lighting it up but at this point there is no where else he can play in a team outside the halves. Anyone that actually watches Sharks games can see that.

He aint a lock, utility or fullback anymore

Is he? I keep seeing this posted here and I just haven't seen it. Other than the kicking, for what I can see Nicho is still directing the team around more than Tricky, and tricky is playing out the back more than Nicho.

So unless 7 is just the kicker, I don't know how it's so clear to some people.

I’m very familiar with Star Wars. Saw it as a young teen when it first came out in 1977. Gradually over the years I managed to see all the others but not once do I recall hearing the word padawan. Who said it and who were they referring to? And how is it relevant in the Nicho Hynes thread?
Padawan is basically an apprentice Jedi, Qui-gon Jin first used the term in the Phantom Menace when referred to Obi-Wan Kenobi as his young Padawan.

How is this relevant to Nicho? Others more verse in the ways of the force can answer that one.

Disagreeing Nicho is the 7 is just en ego thing

Pretending people are obsessed with his million dollars but only because of his number is a joke.
They won’t let it go if it’s a 6 instead.

People are talking about comparing him to ‘when other players play ****’ and Nicho didn’t. Not playing quite as well as you’d hoped and playing **** are not the same.

Perhaps all will be revealed in Episode 2025 of Shark Wars.

May the fourth position on the ladder or higher be with you

Hynes is playing predominantly as a right sided half, plays both first and second receiver and does some kicking.

Trindall is playing predominantly as a left sided half, plays both first and second receiver and does some kicking (probably has now transitioned into the majority of the kicking).

Put Nicho in number 76 and Trindall in number 67 and it won't change the way they play.

That question mark idea of mine gets more appealing by the hour

Why can't Nicho be 67 and Trindall 76 ?! ........ answer me ;)

You're right it won't change the way they play, as has been mentioned by the coach and anyone who actually watches the game, who wears the 6 or 7 wont make a difference. We play in our systems - the team is very well coached and drilled and is why when we lost Trindall and Hynes for chunks of last season it was business as usual for the most part because the team knows it's systems.

The biggest change with Trindall kicking more is an A++ move

probably ?! lol come on stop making yourself look bad

They have already changed the way they play and Nicho has come out and said he prefers the running 6 role let alone players with more decorated careers as an NRL half saying so

For atleast the tenth time the jersey change is only because it makes sense not because they need to change the way they play but sure, proceed

I said probably cos both Nicho and Fitz have said who kicks and how much he kicks will be game plan dependent.

And you're making stuff up if you think Nicho has come out and I said "I prefer the running 6 role". Nicho still sees himself as the 7 (although not a traditional 7), which is probably (there's that word again) why he's still wearing the 7.

Kemp sums up the Hynes stuff best.

It's at the 1:09:41 mark (it is time stamped in the comments).
