Exactly right Cap, it would take more than a high tech jersey to get you far in a kickathon of that magnitude...

I didn't pay any attention to the Union WC, so correct me if I'm wrong, but the Wobblies' high tech jersey design didn't get them too far.

ahh, but the saffas wore the same jersey, and they won the kick-fest.

the jersey actually has some interesting design features ... the ball grippy stuff does look gay (but not as gay as that stade francais jersey).

they were a little bit loose around the shoulder area to make binding in the scrums a little bit easier.

they're quite tight so that there's less for tacklers to grab onto - same reason as why a lot of league jerseys are collarless. they also have a slippery feel when they're sweaty, so the tackler is that little bit more likely to slip off.

the material is charged with (I think) negative ions, which apprently helps to either soak away excess sweat, or do something that helps the muscles recover quicker, so the players can play at 100% for longer.

the poms complained about the ion charge thingy, but they wear an undershirt that has the same technology.

Stupid game anyways, that's why I follow league, not to mention how bad our team is.

cool. we're all entitled to enjoy what we want.

the international games are garbage, the IRB needs to fix that up.

the club and ARC games are awesome with the new laws. less kicking, more attacking flair. average of 9 tries scored each game.

Funny then that the internationals normally draw a crowd, but from what I have heard the club/ARC games don't?

yep. pretty much spot on. The ARU did a **** job at marketing the ARC.

one of the very silly things they did during the ARC was to have all the TV cameras in the same grandstand as the crowd, and the whole crowd sitting together ... which is fine if you're at a game, but really bad for TV - the cameras are looking at the game, with an empty grandstand as the background. BAD look, especially with smallish crowds.

no other club i think has the jersey so it could advantage us..

Like I think I said, it sounds like the Bronco's and Bulldog's jerseys from 2007 re all the grip stuff. I don't know about all that ion charging stuff though. But isn't that what those skin tight outfits do? Skins I think they might be called. Keeping the muscles at peek conditions for longer or something. I dunno, sounds more like a science experiment than a footy match to me.

skins help increase venous blood return to the heart, which will increase the length of time you can perform better

apparently the Nazis used to bombard their fighter and bomber pilots with negative ions in chambers before taking off for big missions. apparently it helped them stay alert for longer.

didn't help them win the war though.

Technology enhanced jerseys are one of the epitomes' of bullsh!t.

Then again, I'm still warming to Dencorub on the thighs.

Next thing I'm gonna be told is that Americans really did walk on the Moon.

What I meant to say was just wait till we play Penrith in Penrith.

Maybe we'll get to wear our home jerseys at an away game.
