Saw the idea floated this morning that part of the reason Jennings was dropped to reggies was to discourage Ricky from picking him for SOO and hence prevent a number of those bonuses kicking in next year... I reckon that is part of the story- plus the ill-discipline.

Its going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm tipping Dragons and Dogs as early favourites.

Seeings Gould is willing to stump up the first $200k of Jennings' $600k contract, why don't we swap Toups for Jennings and call it evens. That way we offload Toupo and pick up a quality back. Toupos contract would go towards Jennings original sking price of $600k for the first year and we could renegotiate if he produces the goods. Seems to make sense to me. For starters, the figure quoted was 700k. Besides that, what drugs are you on that you think Penrith would trade Jennings for Toupo?

It's about market value, and at present Tupou's market value is not 400k .. especially with the type of injuries he's had.

If we are serious about signing Jennings we need to make a serious offer. He will laugh at our offer if isn't the highest bid I would think. Teams like the Dogs, Dragons, Rabbits should all be looking to sign him and they are all more attractive places to go than here. Atleast that's what has been shown from the bigger name players in the past.

MICHAEL Jennings is on an unbelievable $700,000-a-year if he stays at the Panthers next season. This is why Phillip Ronald Gould is shopping him around to rival clubs and even offering to contribute $200,000 to a club prepared to take him. For all his attitude problems, Jennings is a good buy at $500,000. He needs a change of club and new environment as much as anything.

i think it will help that we have already signed gordan and that we are currently 3rd on the table, i would love to see us sign jennings and if the above article is accuate 200k from the panthers will make it easier to sign him
