Hey all,
There was a meeting with club officials (LG and other officials) to discuss ways to improve game day experience.
Myself, Fitz and Ironshark were among some of the attendees. (Approx 20 pers attended )

Some of the things that were discussed, are as follows:
Volunteers - similar to what wanderers have. They would go through a selection process.
Food - more heathy food was suggested. Club is talking with current operator to produce something better than current.
Ground Announcers - New ones.
PA system - they are working on fixing/ improving it.
Forums will be back again in Feb, more to follow on this one.
Beverages - since one area is closed due to the players recreation centre, there will be more portable bars (Plus a surprise coming too with this)
Away games - putting aside an area for supporters to go, should they not be able to attend the games. (More to follow on this one)
The leagues club is donating $2 for every meal is sold over the month to wanda SLSC and will work on doing some sort of donation to other organisations each month.

That is some of the items that were bought up, however Fitz or iron might want to expand on these.

The invites were sent to sharks groups (online, FB and so on). They got a good turn out and the attendees put in some great ideas.

There will be more to come out of this in the next month or so.

Fitz made a good speech too :)

I think it's a great initiative getting all the supporter/fan sites together to discuss issues and bring up new ideas.

With everyone working on the same page has to be a good thing for the club, members and fans.

Very positive time ahead, that's for sure.

Thanks Matty.

Re the PA system, for a start they need to turn the volume down.

Thanks I though I could help pass it onto the group :)
It was mentioned that PA was a little loud and distorted .

If you have any other ideas do contact LG.

Heads up: there will be announcements coming out soon about game day experience and other improvements for away games

Thanks Matty.

And on the announcers someone needs to tell them they actually have a microphone. There is no need to yell into it.
Yeah HB, the volume is ridiculous sometimes.

All the points discussed in this thread are certainly valid, a good game day experience will bring fans back to the ground.
Does anyone know why there is such a big gap between the undercard game and first grade. It's around 40 mins I reckon. Way too long. Needs to be no longer than 15 or 20.

I like the way EPL teams come out, all together with their mascots. And they start the game bang on time. This may possibly be a NRL thing but I cannot understand why games constantly start at least five mins late.

I suspect that's a broadcaster thing but I agree with you and it irritates me no end.

Overall it was a well run meeting, however should you have other suggestions that could improve game day experience, do contact LG or drop myself, Fitz or Iron a msg and we could forwardit on to relevant ppl.

With the things they have in pipeline, it's going to be a interesting and exciting year.

They did mention membership in which LG has brought in a collegue that he has previously worked with at other gigs, and he will be on a more full time basis.

these community forum things are great, but what will happen with too many '2 bobs' thrown in. I think in reality everything to do with game day experiences just needs to be common sense.........

are people lining up too long for beverages....yes.....lets fix that
is the pa speaker too crackly and loud.....yes.....lets fix that
does the day appeal to all ages...sometimes....how do we make that happen.

It wasn't a community forum as such. They got ppl from sharks facebook pages, here, CSSC and independents.

I do see what LG is trying to do. He is using a model in which he has used prior to coming here in which it works.

I'd like the Sharks to connect more with Port Macquarie . Their main local team is the Port Macquarie Sharks and they wear our colours . A country game / trial there would be great .
The Mid North Coast/ North Coast could well come on board if we played at least a trial game there . Perhaps against the Titans

Moruya Sharks too. Seems a good idea to make strong links with these places. I doubt games could be played but a meet and greet during byes would be amazing for local communities
