hahaha wasn't this blokes name absolute mud round here not long ago with people arguing he'd never even improve?

Probably about right to start the season. I'd like to see the likes of Dykes and Stonestreet pushing ahead in the second half of the year.
That’d be good although every chance both are still down the depth chart at least one more season. Recent game from SS in lower grades not great whereas Hiroti was good in NRL.
But obviously we hope our young stars kill it.

Fair chance of being the Jets PotY I reckon.

Should come from this bunch. I don’t think anyone else played enough games.

In other Sharks injury news, Mawene Hiroti is currently unavailable after suffering an eye socket fracture playing for the Jets.

Poor fella. He's exceeded my earlier expectations and been pretty decent when filling in in the top grade the last few seasons.

Hope he gets a decent shot either for us or someone else at some stage.

Much younger than I thought he was at 25yrs so still has plenty of time.

While I’d selfishly like to keep him for depth, if we re-sign Stonestreet I hope Hiroti looks elsewhere.

Had a shaky start when he first debuted, but has done a fine job when he’s come in as cover over the last few years. He deserves a proper crack at first grade, however with our current back five as well as Dykes, Stonestreet and even Sifa all likely ahead of him in the pecking order, he won’t be getting that crack with us.

I'm sure if another club came knocking at the door we wouldn't stand in his way. Similar to Tracey, I'm glad he's a regular first grader.

If it's one of the newer clubs it'll be hard to get a trade for him

Completely agree.

Glad that Tracey is not only getting a regular starting spot, but even happy that he’s doing well and Doggies fans are loving him.

All I ask is that the bastard never has a blinder again us 🤣

Doubt he would be a first choice player at another club either

Tracey has a bit of spark about him, Hiroti is just kinda solid. Wasn't the case a few years ago he was pretty bad and I didn't want him anywhere near FG

Unless there is a benefit to us like a Swap or we really need cap relief OR have a viable replacement already in our system we shouldn't be releasing decent players , it only hurts our depth. No one makes a player sign with us. Don't get extra competition points for being the nice guys.

Hiroti has FG experience, plays pretty strong these days and it prob won't be the last time we might need him.

Hiroti is on a dev deal, not much cap relief letting him go!
