He was generally pretty solid. Nothing great. Could of been anything with an extra yard or 2 of pace though. I'd back him over Jono.

I just laugh at a lot of you blokes on here. Everyone is 'pooshouse' but put them in a different side and they are successful. Could anyone on here consider that the reason they might have been crap for us is the fact that the structure at this club is 'pooshouse'. The coaching staff doesn't know how to get the best out of them. Matt Wright whilst never being special for us is playing some good footy for another club and showing us that he had something to offer to us, we just didn't know how to tap it. Some will say in the coming weeks that Holmes and Brown are 'pooshouse' because in learning the game at this level they will make mistakes.

Guys I was just repeating what Big Berm was saying. It was making me laugh whilst I was writing it and making me laugh more now that I am thinking about it.

Stapo scored 4 tries for us against NZ... Stapo and Wright are both capable of some moments (or minutes) of brilliance or competence in Stapo's case but end of the day both average players that showed more promising signs earlier in their careers.

I liked Wright's safety under the ball and the speed and gusto he ran the ball back at the defensive line when playing from FB for us. He also had made a few memorable, epic line breaks and tackle busts in his last season or 2 with us.

I am happy he is fitting in up there at NQ and doing well but don't regret for a second he was let go
We have Feki & Gagan who are superior and have been more exciting prospects from the get go with broader and more dynamic skill sits and more elusive and stronger runners of the ball

A hatrick against a pathetic and demoralised Tigers, I still think Wright will have a tough time keeping his place once Lachlan Coote is fit again

Yeah, I don't think he was quite mobile enough to really be considered a fullback though. Not bad as a fill in option though.

He always looked like he had something, but was just a bit slow. I wanted to see him get a bit of a better run at centre and maybe he would have done alright as an edge backrower. He probably could have been developed there if we had the patience and didn't have such a glut of forwards at the time. He might have been handy. He's still only 23, which would have put him in a good age group for our squad.

I'm not overly concerned that he was let go, but sometimes there just seems to be players that are ok but we just dont make the best use of them.

I always thought he would have made a decent center he will never be a star, but he will be one of those guys like Jmo that just keeps on keeping on. Will prob play for a few clubs and end up playing 200 games
