You can’t blame Metcalf leaving.

Moylan was favoured over all.
And for 20+ weeks, he was also favoured this year.

No way is Metcalf leaving if that thief isn’t picked every week by default.

2021 Moylan was in and out every 2nd week injured. Chad/SJ/Trindall got nod over metcalf. Metcalfe played off bench and at 1.

2022 Moylan played every game i think or nearly all. He also didnt put a foot wrong all year, so why would fitzy have dropped him.

Metcalf made his call to leave, Moylan played well and got a new deal. I dont see where anyone was “favoured” over Metcalf here

Just like Moylan was favoured over Trindall this year

You don’t know what happens at training.. it’s easy for someone to get the impression that player A is favoured over player B by the coach or what Fitz told Metcalf his priorities or where he sees his players rankings as

I will.

I thought he was OK. Not great. Not awful. Had some nice touches but wasn't very involved. Could have changed the game if they got the benefit of the doubt on the Nikora grounding.

I’m saying if our coach didn’t continue to pick a bloke on the wrong side of 30 who can’t kick, run or tackle he might of stuck around. Instead his path was blocked and he couldn’t see a way around it.

Didn’t back himself to beat out a bloke on the wrong side of 30 who can’t kick, run or tackle? Pretty low opinion of himself

Didn’t Fitz literally never select Moylan ahead of Metcalf before Metcalf committed elsewhere?

The most concerning issue for me, is that he will still be at the club in 2024.
The links to Catalan seem to have gone cold.
And no other NRL club would want him.
So we're likely stuck with him

He was alright when we had ball & momentum.

Hitting Nikora for his big run then doubling up to hit him again getting him over was great despite it being no try upon forensic examination.

I dont pretend to know what goes on behind the scenes. However the facts are: Fitzgibbon twice extended Moylan (once in 2021) and Metcalf, who most good judges agreed had something, left under Fitzgibbon for an opportunity elsewhere.

Sure, you can make an argument that Metcalf leaving had nothing to do with the coaches pigheaded insistence on sticking with a half that is almost universally viewed as ****ing shithouse, I don’t buy it, but sure you can make that argument.

I’m not bagging Fitzgibbon for showing Shaun Johnson the door -I think it was a good decision at the time regardless of Johnson’s form this year. No bs hindsight necessary in relation to Moylan, he is **** and has been for a long time and yet how many ****ing games has he played under the coach.

Fitz had to choose between Moylan and Metcalf and choose the guy with the better hammys?

Can you please provide some examples of Fitz playing Moylan over Metcalf before he signed elsewhere

I can give you examples where he’s played Moylan over a lamp post. Seriously though he’s shown his hand over two years re Moylan over Trindall who is objectionably better - not like it’s the tigers and he had to scrounge for a replacement.

If you can provide examples where metcalf got a run and Moylan played reserves I’m happy to stand corrected.

But not the thing I asked you to show?

And no, it’s your narrative, you back it up. I’ll provide counter examples if necessary
