Moylan has been in and out of rehab for about five years. Does anyone honestly think his hamstrings will get better?

Looking at the highlights package , Nicho looks to have predominately played on the right side - the same as SJ.

I wonder if that is the clue with Moylan being a left sided player ?

Hope not - surely SJ / Nicho could work ...

One of our best lately. If that doesn't answer your question then you're a nong.

Good old fashioned fullback-off you reckon?

Wonder whether Flanno would be allowed to watch in disguise from the bleachers.

one would hope my friend, one would hope

I miss the days when Flanno would talk bs in pre season like how Mick Gordon was gunna start kicking more from fullback ect haha

the closest we have had lately was from our former coach who pretended Tracey was a genuine option at fullback lol - worked though, fired Kennedy up

if Kennedy has Hynes and Moylan pretend gunning for his position he will become Billy Slater next season , keep Josh 'World Class' Dugan around as well during pre season and Kennedy comes out the greatest we have ever seen

Yep agreed. Moylan would be good at this role. Not worth paying big $$ for someone in that spot though.

dunno if it is worth any $$ at all - we don't need another bench utility as surely Tracey / Trindall is good enough cover + we have tried Moylan from the bench and he was the opposite of convincing in that role

Seems strange. Hopefully Johnson sticks around

while I don't see how talk of keeping Moylan makes SJ feel the love he allegedly craves, surely it is the mother of all gauntlet throw downs to SJ to see how he responds on the field or with the offer he will accept. cause otherwise it makes no sense unless Hynes comes out a surprise 7 with a kicking game in the off season. Johnson has just come back from injury and is already looking good, I don't think he needs to prove that he has the right attitude or execution on the field beyond being consistent week to week and as solid as Mozza has been for us this year SJ offers more all round and can play 7

FFS,
He’s already got or going to get around 3 mill off us the past3 .5 seasons & we are looking to extend him, I don’t care if it’s reduced, no way.

Watch the games closely, Moylan pretty much plays as a half back a few times a game (when Townsend didn't overcall for the ball), majority of the set moves are orchestrated by Moylan.. putting him as half back permanently wouldn't be a bad ploy and honestly nothing would really change. 2 attacking halves each side of the ruck, almost un Sharks like.
2018 Moylan highlight reel, beautiful viewing.

Takes one to know one pal. So you're happy resigning Moylan who regularly shows he couldn't run out of sight on a dark night

For a cheap enough price I'd be happy to sign him on a short deal.

He's not going to score a runaway try but there are plenty of playmakers in that boat.

Still has enough elusiveness to make the defense hang back a little, which gives him that split second second extra to put someone through a gap.

He's strong too, and tougher than many give him credit for.

I agree with others that a combo of him and Hynes seems a bit weird. I'd be using him off the bench rather than first choice 6/7 with Hynes.

And yes I'm a nong.

When was Moylan tried in the role, other than round 3 2020?

Also - why are people hung up on this role being a “bench utility”? Tracey awful at hooker. He can’t pass and he can’t defend in the middle. He’s an outside back who can cover 6. A hybrid of Beale and Bird.

Right now Trindall is not a bench utility. He’s a small ball-playing middle.

agree with this, we have not got any value out of this recruitment. I'd rather just move on from Moylan even if it does leave us a bit low on halfback options.

I can't believe that anyone within the football department, or anywhere else, could believe that a Moylan/Hynes halves pairing would work. It would be great when in the opposition's 20, but outside of that we'd have no direction.
