Scans last night have confirmed that young Sharks fullback Liam Ison ruptured his ACL while playing for Sharks partner club the Newtown Jets on Saturday.
That's a big blow.

Surgery today
Given he's going to miss the season and will be ready by the time off season starts will the plan be a more slower controlled rehab you think, given he has basically a year before footy starts for him ?

Not sure that's even a think lol but feels like there's no rush to get him back and given the potential for complications maybe there's a more slower approach?

Ive had a few Tigers, Knights, Dragons players b4 now
Do you guys ever do the non-surgical option?

Had a workmate do his ACL a few years back and he, with help from a Dr associated with the Swans went down the non-surgical option.

What ever happened to that surgery that Covell and Tupou did where they received a donor ligament or something and their recovery halved?

It is generally something used for older people in recovery near the end of their careers. In general they prefer the more traditional method of a Hamstring graft for younger athleres.
