Teenage fullback Liam Ison will become Shark #561 against the Cowboys on Saturday night after being named to make his NRL debut as a replacement for the suspended Will Kennedy.

The 19-year-old speedster is the only new face in a starting side that defeated the Wests Tigers in Round 19 leading into last weekend's bye. The St Marys Saints junior will don the No.1 jersey at Townsville's Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Hope this young bloke kills it this week! Kennedy does not deserve to have a mortgage on the fullback role. Needs someone coming up to put pressure on him for his spot. Blokes had it way to easy the past 2 seasons now.

To look at he reminds me of a young Billy Slater. Running style reminds me more of a young Flash Gordon.

Haven’t see the lower grades. How’s he been going?
That article Thresher posted above, and the quotes from the players, are all pretty spot on, not just fluff.

He is nowhere near as safe as Kennedy under the high ball, but few are. His defence isn't fully there yet, but not out of fear, he's all heart.

He will bring improved support play and a lot of energy... though obviously that energy will dissipate quicker in NRL than NSW Cup.

Yeah his support play is next level, it's a thing of beauty.

If he nails the support play thing on Saturday that will be a bad look for Will.
