Look guys i know Sharkies are doing it tough at the moment
but im playing for a under strength U18s team
we lost our first game 90-6 and our second 86-0
if anyone lives in the illawarra area and can play in the forwards it would be greatly appreciated if you could play for the port kembla blacks.

Do u think my team should fold lol were not going to win a game all season all the teams in our comp are too strong for us
shellharbour have people from all over trying to get a place later in the shelharbour sharks firstgrade team i think that its hardly fair on us

Worse comes to worse we could relocate and sell our current land to have a nice kitty. The place we relocate to we could just rent the stadium and get help from the local government like most other clubs do. So in effect we have that lifeline. Let's say we moved to the Sunshine Coast for example and the Sunshine Coast council built a big stadium for us sort of like how the Titans have skilled park, we could move there and sell our current land including the leagues club and be a quite well off club.

If the Sharks were to move anywhere it would have to be the Sunny Coast, since it's my new location these days :drunk

Why is it that after 2 rounds in 2010 and the worst season in the clubs history (2009) that you guys are so doom and gloom ? Ricky is still trialling players in different positions and it will take some time for the team to gel.
From a personal point of view i feel that Albert Kelly seems a bit lost in first grade atm.
Paul Aiton needs to start the match hooker and be on the field for at least 60 minutes.
Pomms needs to go to the bench as a forward, it seemed to be working last year.
Collis and Matt Wright to the centres (when available) Gordon and Covs wings and Fergo to fullback.
Cuthbo and Dougie starting props, Snowden to the bench with Cordoba and Pomms.
Morris 4th interchange.
We need at least three big men on the interchange bench to compete with the other big packs in the nrl.

Will not happen the leagues club and the football club are two separate companies the leagues club is not the one that is broke, with the new set up that the NRL is setting up we will be ok, the press likes to give us a drilling all the time but we are in a far better situation than a lot of Sydney clubs in the long run, we have not been selling assets to get by ie Dragons & Eels, Manly,Souths and the Tigers will be a lot worse than us but the focus has been taken off them as they are winning and dont have as many off field dramas

Interesting discussion considering we are in a much better position then we were last year and are a few years off being one of the more rich clubs in NSW...

There are worries on the field for sure and the worry is then if we will be able to attract quality players to what appears to be a black hole for footballers careers.

But asking if the nrl will allow us to fold shows you dont understand the situation as they cant make us leave and with the redevelopment, more members and a new major sponsor we are in no immediate danger whatsoever.

Ouch. I am actualy quite aware of the sharks financial situation. I also have connections within the club regarding people with knowledge of the sharks finances and finance in general. My comments were merely to spark discussion, and I think this thread has been quite interesting so far.
The development has many hurdles to overcome, hyperthetically if it was to fail then we would not be in as good financial situation in the coming years as you are suggesting.

I am sorry if I caused offence, you said the title of the thread was to aggrovate people and in my case I believe you accomplished that. I guess I just feel every time we are losing everyone comes out with the knives. We arent performing on the field but we have at least sorted out the finances in the short-term with a plan to sort it long-term which is a great difference from last years dire situation. We are not in the clear by any means but we are finally back on track so creating a thread entitled "lets fold" is obviously going to get a bad reaction from some people who honestly thought mid-way through last year that they wouldnt have a team to support 24 months later.

I can see your passion and I can see I may not have started this thread the right way. To be clear, I am by no means trying to "come out with the knives". I back this team %110. Since birth, and till death. If this team was to fold, or relocate, I would be crushed, shattered, like most of you in the forum. I hope this re-development gets up and can overcome any problems/ issues it faces.
