Guys I've just been given some very good info from someone close to GB. If we want to keep GB in our team we must stand up and make our voice be heard. The only way to do this is to go to the club on Thursday or Friday when the board meeting is conducted and be let the board know how we feel. We must gather in the club, foyer, car park, wherever and protest against this injustice. With the agenda that the Daily Telegraph is running only people power and a show of fan strength can help Greg's cause. This is no joke guys. I will try to update you all as to when the meeting is on so we can try to get as many people there to support Greg. WATCH THIS SPACE

Its Thursday unless Bird's legal bloke isn't back from the GC, in which case it will be Friday.

If I weren't in Canberra, I'd be there. I'd suggest everyone who can get there and doesn't want to have Greg Bird playing for another NRL club should do their absolute best to get there. Be realistic, if he isn't found guilty of something half decent in April, the NRL WILL NOT de-register Bird because our club took an easy out. Before a decision is made by the courts I don't see how the club could sack him and use any of the stuff still tied up in the court case as a reason to end his contract. They'd have to toe the line on him lying to the club, which is really a matter between the club and the play and hardly going to draw sanctions from the game's leading body. It would set a bad precedence in the game making it way to easy for clubs to get rid of players, with the added security that that player won't be back to bite you for a season or two.

I've shot an email to CSSC.

If there's a decent show out there, I'll just bloody ring Gavin Orr's number and find out exactly when the board meeting is on, surely he'd know and be happy to tell us.

Guys. I spoke to Chris Orr (Gavin's bro and partner) earlier and that's what got this ball rolling. He wasn't 100% of the timing but I asked him to let me know when the meeting is on. I emailed Gavin on the company website http://www.pacificsportsmanagement.com and told him that there are many sharks fans out there who would support Greg in his plight. He suggested the turnout at the club for the meeting but he can't do to much, legally, for obvious reasons. Not sure if I should even write this here. Anyways If anyone finds out let everyone know on this website, cssc and sms. Let's get right behind GB!!

It looks like GB is gone, you can protest all you like. There will be no Premiership for the Sharks next year, and you can say thanks to the Cronulla Board and whoever is supporting this. Whilst he is 1 player, he is integral if the Sharks want to attempt to win a comp.

When it comes to the crunch in Grand Finals you need the best players.

I really wonder about the logic of the people who run this club sometimes. I don't know what is going on but it definitely doesn't seem that they have the best interests of the club at heart. On one hand, they are crying poor and asking people to support the club, buy memberships etc but at the same time, we are going to sack a loyal, star player over what increasingly appears to be a non-issue. Until he is found guilty of something, lets get on with Season 2009.:rant

Guys I am getting messages from the media regarding this already. Apparently a well known sports website is interesting in doing a story about the planned protest. The Telegraph (vomit!!!) are apparently interested as well but not sure If i wanna talk to them. Looks like this could really build some momentum of we do it right. Everyone interested in showing up please email sharkstragic@optusnet.com.au so i can get an idea of numbers. I will be trying to get the exact date and time of the meeting tomorrow afternoon at the latest if possible. Start to sms people you know to see if there is a real interest here.

sharkstragic if you really know someone close to GB then get this message to him.

GB must be man enough to apologize to the board and not only that, explain why he lied as well. The club's biggest issue with him is the lies about who did it, he can say he was confused and scared of the out come from what he did and didn't think clearly. This is his only chance to get back in the team.
