Well, we still don't actually know what has happened yet. So, it can't really be labelled "one of the most disgraceful episodes in Australian sport". League freak, you've prematurely ejaculated.

THIS is what I was trying to say. Labelling the sharks as involved in "one of the most disgraceful episodes in Australian sport" is inaccurate at this point in time and unfairly tarnishes the club by suggesting the outcome is pre-determined. There is already a truckload of media spouting this same line so if you just want to make half-arsed assumptions and bash us then get in the queue.

If it turns out that we have done the wrong thing willingly and intentionally then we'll cop our medicine, but this has not proven to be the case so far, and as I said there are other clubs who used the guy and his methods for a lot longer than us and theyre not suffering the same scrutiny. One surely has to question why this is, and to me its either
a/ we are clearly in the wrong and the other clubs arent.
b/ its agenda driven.

If it was a/ then surely some more solid info would have come out by now.

That is all

Actually there is a fair bit of love inside the Nrl headquarters but just not a lot of love for the actions of the board. They will bail the sharks out but it will be done without the current board in place.

LOL. Im not trying to attack, and i said in my first post that his sentiments seemed genuine enough. im just sick of ppl talking like its a done deal and we have done the wrong thing, when that is as yet unproven :)

Yes Souths were unloved as far as crowds were concerned but they've always had a large supporter base because of their rich history.

GWS are coming last because their team was stacked with the best 17 year old talent in the country. There will be a few years of pain but they will be a gun team in a few years time. Anyway, I'd say a second team in Brisbane would come in before a Perth team if we were to fold. Yes, it would cost a bit to set it up but the support for league in Brisbane is unquestioned so the new team wouldn't be relying on cash from the ARLC for long. I don't think that would be a concern at all.

I just don't think there's a whole lot of love for our club outside of the supporter base. Maybe I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the administrators shedding a tear if we folded.

It would be interesting to see how a second Brisbane team would go. But it should also be remembered that the last "Brisbane 2" failed with the Crushers. It wasn't all that long ago either. The Gold Coast are currently struggling. I don't think it's a lay misere that it would work, at least without substantial funding. If they are ****, no one will care for them.

Many Brisbane people already have a strong love for the Broncos. They would need to have a pretty good reason to change their allegiance. IMO, that would either have to be A) a kick ass team, B) Some kind of locational differentiation. For B, they would need a team that would not be playing out of Sunburn Stadium. That would also mean a substantial financial input from someone. If it were to go belly up, no doubt the NRL would be left holding the bag.

Would be good to hear from some of our Brisbane-based supporters, see what they think. I think the extra money the ARLC could extract from tv for an extra game each week featuring a Brisbane team would just about fund them.

I can't remember why the Crushers failed. I know they were struggling for support but that could also have something to do with the success the Broncos were having back then. That's obviously not the case at the moment.

Lost at sea.
i have a bronco supporting mate who was born and raised in brissy, we talk about this often on the beers, he always mentions he would love to see a 2nd brissy team, south(or north) whatever the opposite side of the river the broncos are now, and build a north/south of the river rivalry. he reckons it wouldnt take much for it to build,
i wouldnt know as i never go there but sounds good to me.

Bring in Ipswich. The Souffs of Qld

If crowd numbers at the Gold Coast get any worse the NRL may need to reconsider if it adds anything other than a 2nd place for Jigs to wank over indigenous players
