Obviously there are some pretty switched on folks out there. Here are some comments on the story:

Yes, great idea and will save our Sharkies!!!
You don't know what youv'e got till its gone, and the Shire must fight to keep our team. And this will only help.

I don't know what all the hoo ha is about re the sharks development.. what they have planned looks great and will bring the whole captain cook drive area alive. It's being done with the environment as a top priority and it will modernise an otherwise drab area. All for it.

Kirrawee brick pit development looks exciting! It will bring life back to Kirrawee and the property value will increase. Win-win for everyone!

I'm for it. Not only does it look awesome, it will help create a better future for the Sharks, a footy team I have supported my whole life and my son now supports
Great work

A great idea for the Shire and the survival of the Sharks.
If George Capsis did'nt already have his head stuck in the sand he should hang it in shame for his pathetic objections.

Not only will this development help to ensure a successful future for the Sharkies, it will bring a range of benefits to our local area which have been well described and outlined by both the Sharks and developers.
They should be applauded for the manner in which they have included the public and dealt with concerns from all involved.

I've been involved with property developments in my professional life for many years and I've got to say that this development appears to be one of the most robust and well thought out master plans that I've ever seen. Not just the modern residential precinct but also the integrated retail and entertainment aspects as well. I had a look at the developer's website (www.infoonsharks.com.au) and was really impressed how they've gone about addressing a lot of the concerns raised. This will be a great boost to employment and economic growth in the Shire. We get to keep the Sharks too!
Win!

I agree with all of these developments except for one. The Meriton apartment complex. Meriton should never be allowed to build in the shire. I love the look of the Sharks development and the Kirrawee brick pit too. They will bring life to that those areas and also help Cronulla Sharks to stay alive

i can not understand why people would want to stop this, its beyond stupitiy!!!!!
no doubt once complete the people bagging it will be the ones embracing it....

What a great opportunity for the Shire and its residents. These developments will bring in a breath of fresh air.
Win, win, win !!

The Sharkies development is a NO BRAINER. Clearly the best and most sensible long-term use for the entire site. Get it moving!

The shire is lucky to have the Sharks and needs to do whatever it can to hang onto them.
That aside, the development looks fantastic in it's own merits and will be a fantastic and much needed addition to the Cronulla, Woolooware and Kurnell area.

More feedback in the comments section of the article at The Leader:

Well I have said this before but I will say it again I am Kurnell resident have been for a long bloody time and I also do the shopping for the family after work I as the wife hates going into nulla to do it unless its for coffee, I am also a St George fan so I probably should be death riding this lol but I cant think of anything better then this it meets my needs and my family's needs just please sharkys get it done it will make my life so much easier may even buy one of the units probably wont be able to afford one with a view though this needs to happen we need it.
The Sharks development will be a fantastic attraction to the Shire. Updated services and facilities, great entertainment and, best of all, better facilities at Shark Park for all the Shire to enjoy as we cheer on our beloved team.
We are so fortunate to have our very own NRL team that we don't have to share (or "merge") with anyone else! Let's grab this opportunity with both hands and watch the Sharks go forward to glory!
REGARDING SHIRE DEVELOPMENT
I ESTIMATE THERE ARE 250,000 RESIDENCES IN SHIRE

IF SAY THERE ARE 4000 NEW RESIDENCED ADDED THIS WOULD AN OVERALL INCREASE OF ABOUT 2%

IF THIS WAS SPREAD EVENLY I DONT THINK IT WOULD AFFECT INFUSTRUCTURE AND WOULD NOT COST TAX PAYER

IF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ALLOWS 700 PLUS 400 HOUSES IN CRONULLA THAT HAS1600 HOUSES THIS EQUAL 70%INCREASE IN CRONULLA IS THIS FAIR
Sutherland Shire is one of the biggest local gov areas in Australia - with our growing population, where will our kids live if we dont have more housing? The Sharks Eco-Development resembles the best on Sydney Harbour and will bring a waterfront lifestyle to more Shire residents instead of the existing swamp while preserving the life of the Shire's own national sports team. It also brings much needed supermarket facilities as Caringbah Coles and WW are now over capacity. Any local councillor who doesn't support this particularly with LGA elections looming may not stick around for long!
Let it go ahead brings jobs and class to the shire
Great idea, but what about Infrastructure? We build, build and build and our lazy state government wont put a cent in to build some roads (F3 might help and this could be an opportunity to get some private money into it), rail, schools etc etc. Great to have all these things but lets also get the surrounding infrastructure to go with it!
Anything that brings about the death of the cheap sell out entity stmerge illawarra and strengthens the foothold of The Sharks in Sydney's south, gets my seal of approval.
Viva la hammerhead revolution!!!!
How can you see this as bad people it is only going to benefit our shire. This what we have been needing and the development at cronulla sharks will help the community down there and it will also help our team out the sharks. This has to happen people and you have to look at it on the positive side because it will open up more jobs, more facilities and even a public transport down to the development and Kurnell. We need this to happen otherwise me and other people will be devastated that the all mighty sharkies will be gone who people have been fans for a long time and there kids do too.
