Dunno - defence is a big question mark with him I reckon. Not sure you want him in the front line.

That’s not to say he won’t improve. I’m just now sure if he is ready for that now.

I'm over having a "14" / utility - when was the last time it actually did us any good or gave us more benefit than an extra forward?

It's different if you have a proper 9 relief bench impact player like Seggy but we don't anymore.

The utility type players we trot out don't have a ****ing clue what to do with themselves in their 8 mins and if somehow they are given most of a game to cover an injury they arn't good enough in that position to make you think thank goodness we selected them on the bench.

Either pick someone quick and exciting in the role like Metcalf who can make a line break or something else happen or go with a massive low minute forward like Pele

Hopefully Miller can stake a claim cause I'm over seeing Trindall there but apparently he trained well in the off season so the role is his for the next 10 years

Trindall should be a starting half covering for an injury that week or playing for the jets

You're spot on with this I think. Someone with pace/x factor or an extra forward is the go.

Agreed, and plenty of others agree as there’s been a lot discussion on exactly this for most of the season.
Cameos for 5-10 mins back end of a game isn’t doing Trindall any favours.

Honestly. I think our utility should be McInnes on the bench and Tracey playing at centre. Gives us good versatility and can effectively have a four forward bench with McInnes playing lock and covering half/hooker and Tracey covering wing/fullback.

If Talaki is on the bench with McInnes as well is even better cover.

I’ve been saying this for years. No need for a utility when you’ve got 5-6 blokes in the 17 who can play multiple spots.

Trindall being on the bench early season a bit of made sense with no Tracey, Graham or McInnes, and Moyza having no pre-season games. No reasons to have a “designated 14” spot on the bench though.
