Played well. Really sorting his defence out this season.

To be fair on the bloke he was a right edge back rower who was playing everywhere else but there, so it is not surprising that he is playing his best footy in that position.

His defence is ****ing immense. I like his step, but yeah if he could find a way to run a nice line he could be a seriously handy player.

Got a bit of toe too he ran down someone and put in one of those Morris twins Superman tackles

In recent weeks I stated on here that we underestimate the value that Capewell brings to the team because of his versatility to roll up his sleeves and compete. I got hammered by some armchair Shark experts who dismissed Kurt as just OK. It is great to see more posters warming to his contribution - he gives 100% every game, offers position flexibility and never stops tackling.

Meh, I maintain that he is average on a good day. This guy just cannot run a direct line / angle . Until he can learn to do that than no amount of tackling will see him be anything but a fringe 1st grader.

Nothing special, just does his job.
Best game was against Canberra in the Semi finals in 2016.

If Capewell didn't stand up like he did in that finals game against the Raiders, we lose. In my opinion.

Whilst i'm grateful for that, that was 2016. I think he is a bench player at most, he needs to build some muscle to make it in the forwards to really be a force and cement a starting position.

he is a good player to have in the squad

much like sorenson, williams, uele, dillon ect

he is great to call upon for depth but will never be a fulltime first grader

He looks like he has gotten bigger this season.

2015 - Standout in Qld Cup
2016 - NSW Cup player with a taste of first grade. Wins Newtown player of the year and top 3 NSW Cup player of the year
2017 - NRL squad member and fringe first grader
2018 - NRL regualar and "first drop" as back row injury replacement
2019 - ???

This trajectory is fine. Not everyone has to come in and dominate on day 1. He has played just 30 NRL games, and more importantly maybe just 300-400 minutes in his best position.

Players can still improve at 24. In 2012 Wade Graham (22) and Andrew Fifita (23) we both on the bench. Graham didn't actually become a first choice starter in the back row until 2014. I'm not saying he will get to that level but you can't say that a 24 year old player has plateaued.

Agreed, he is bigger. I'd like him to get bigger again though, much like Lewis and that will come with time/age. If he can do that we will really see what he can do.

We are lucky to have his versatility especially with the injuries we have had.
