On the evidence of that one game i got the impression this kid really challenges the defensive line with his speed and foot work , obviously a long way to go but with natural progression and experience he could be a little gem .

We just need to be careful what we write on this forum otherwise there will be an article in the Tele saying : "sources with the Sharks have predicted that young Dykes is the next ET."

Don't do it Buzz!

Yeah He was blowing hard. Was grabbing the water bottle on the sidelines at some points.

Can’t blame him. First game at fullback and you run a lot in that position. Easily worked on
A little undersized I thought too. But it'll all come.
So he's the next ET, Teddy and whoever else.

Good first game. Let's just keep a lid on expectations.
I thought he moved more like Ponga. Long gangly sort of runner. Powerful bursts into the line.
Hopefully not the next Ponga... He'll be a NSWelshman in any case right?

Having a few games back to back is going to give Fitz a very good idea what he’s got to work with.
Seems confident too.

Unless we decide to play him in the centres, a decision at some stage will need to be made between him and Kennedy.

He's too classy for the wing, not that there's anything wrong with the winger class.

Good game from young Dykes, was stoked to see him get a try and he looked elated , had a feeling he would snag a try or 2 in this game

Kennedy will come straight back into replace him though no ifs or butts and I think for the finals campaign that's the right call

Totally the right call. He's the integral cog in the attacking structure that we've worked on all year.

His support play is a breath of fresh air. might get Kennedy mixxing his game up also.
Kennedy offcontract after next season, and we have already seen what the club can do when it gets its priorities in early with the Braikey brothers.
Puts us in a very good position when negotiating with the majority of our backline next year. If Kennedy gets squeezed out we will have our ready made replacement for 2024.

We can't have both, not sure Kennedy can really play any other positions.

I wonder if Dykes takes that FB spot next year if he has a killer off season. He's not going to play 5/8th with Moylan and Kennedy is off contract, also an opportunity to save some money by bringing up Dykes.

As mentioned his support around the ruck and elusiveness is a breathe of fresh air, and he seems to have all the other key FB skills too.

Keen to see how we looks with Moylan coming back in.

We haven't seen him peppered by the high ball under pressure yet. The Bulldogs game might be a good year in a couple of weeks.
