Sharks lost a rep player in Bird, and filled the gap with Dugan. Both had injury-affected seasons, but in terms of contribution to his team, Dugan clearly had the better season.

He's a bloke you need to learn to play a bit smarter and preserve himself. NRL is a marathon. Its all about getting to September in good shape. Agree we gotta use him right cause he's a weapon.

Me either, its tough. Love the mentality but I'd rather 20 strong games than a round 1 blinder that cripples him for 12 weeks. He should be able to play in a structure that utilises his strengths other than being a kamakazi all the time.

I don't see a structure or position on the field where you can avoid the risk of injury to Dugan - his strength is his full throttle 100% approach not so much outright skills. you can't take that away or ask him to take it easy either or you gunna have a shell of a player that second guesses himself.

We just gunna have to deal with it I think - this is the player we have.

Having an outside back that plays 50% of the time is just retarded. If it were a bench utility I would be all for it. You can't have a marquee back that isn't dependable.

So he needs to find a way to not be injured so damn much, even if that means not being as good.

Agree. I love him when he plays but it's just not often enough.

It isn't going to change though, he's been in the NRL for 11 years now and has always been prone to injury.

We either suck it up or look for an alternative.
