the Sharks need him, he has displayed how big his ticker is to come back from his illness', you cant buy heart like that, if he was that determined to overcome something so serious, surely football is more trivial to him now, and he will become a really relaxed player. If you know what i mean. Just like covells efforts, it was like a last chance thing for him and he went into uncharted waters to give himself the best chance at bettering his career. Dont let this guy go, the Sharks need as much heart as they can get

Mannah stoked to give something back
Posted August 10, 2010 20:45:00

Sharks forward Jon Mannah says he is overwhelmed by the club's decision to dedicate this Friday's match against the Roosters to him.

Mannah is in remission after being diagnosed with cancer last year and is Cronulla's ambassador for the NRL's inaugural Men's Cancer Awareness Round.

He said it is nice to give something back after football helped him through his tough time.

"Footy was something that I sort of clinged [sic] on to," he said.

"It was helpful to have that there and to sort of take my mind off what was happening and where I was at some stages.

"It was really helpful at times."

Mannah said the gesture caught him a bit off-guard.

"It is a really big honour, and I didn't think that was going to happen," he said.

"It is a bit overwhelming and really exciting to hear that."

One of my favourite players, and he isn't even in 1sts yet. Can't wait to have him back, he and Vave are going to make a superb bench pairing and top quality props in their own right.

We need to keep him. I would like to see us try and sign him on a long term deal. Given his age I think somewhere around 4 years would be great. If we added some bonus in there I think we could get him at a good price.

I really hope Mannah becomes a big player for us in first grade next year. If he can cement himself there and we have Vave and Cordoba as well then I will feel very good about our front row depth. Then we can move Cuthbo back to the backrow where he belongs so he can serve as depth for our 3 stars. Hopefully Millo will be there too to add to that.

very true, and a 200k bonus is he brings tim over

I am sure we could do better than that Snowman if he can get Tim here as well!

He and Vave are both only 21 so imagine what those 2 could do for us in the future. Douggie, Snowy and those 2. Look out!

I'd like to see all 4 of Vave/Mannah/Snowden/Douglas extended for at least 3 years each. They're going to be a dominant rotation I reckon.

I'd give Mannah 2 years on a good contract with a 2 year extension in our favour.

I would give anything to see Mannah play in the NRL squad. Come on us fans need these small victories this year.

In the interview with him on the Sharks site he says "I'm here next year". Something must have been sorted out contract wise, which is great.

That said, he didn't say I want to stay here in to the future etc etc... check it out on the website, let me know what you think. I don't want us to lose this guy.
