Again though, this early signing stuff is a joke and needs to be changed. If he’s good this year we can’t have any type of excitement. Absolute cancer of a rule. It really turns me off taking any interest in player development. I’ll have to stick to the nrl approved one dimensional flag waving.

Of the players we’ve lost recently only Curtis Scott and Ado Carr have gone on to be something special and a lot of that can be attributed to the Storm system.

Others like KOD, Peach, Lichha, Connor Tracey haven’t gone on to make me super worried. Had we not won a premiership I’d have my doubts, but what the club has been doing obviously works.

Edit: add frizzel to big losses.

Ado Carr did not consistently impress in the under 20's anywhere near the levels of Holmes either as a reference point

Frizzel was indeed a shame as he is quality these days but didn't have much FG under his belt when he was signed elsewhere

Flanno stacks his teams with experience and a sprinkling of youth meaning less spots for up and comers (opposed to say newcastle) but even that is slowly starting to change as players close in on retirement and the next generation comes through Flanno is giving out more opportunities but that has coincided with having superior quality in our depth across various positions compared to the earlier days in Flanno's tenure.

Can’t blame Ramien. Dugan is on a 4 year contract and Leutele apparently has his family stuff sorted and will be looking to stay long term. Ramien wasn’t going to be a starting centre in the next 2-3 years barring major injury.

We havent missed anybody we’ve ‘lost’. We won without them, only scott/addo-carr have gone on to huge success in club land but we still won a premiership after theyd left too. For every player thats pinched from us, we pinch 1 from somewhere else. Thats life

You can't blame Ramien, but this is a bad loss.

I know what everyone at the club thought of him , although the spin will probably change now.

There was even a school of thought along the lines of 1 Dugan 2 Holmes 3 Ramien 6 Moylan to fit him in.The opinions were sky high.

We move on though i guess.....

You're right. A few really obvious ones are Ferguson/Graham ... Frizzel/Bird ... Lichaa/Ennis ... Peachey/Lewis ... Smith/Heighno ... Snowden/Fifita... and now Bird/Dugan and of course Maloney/Moylan. In every case the player we pinched in the other direction turned out ok.
