Ramien is off to Newcastle next year.... what a shame.. Why do we keep losing promising young centres?

I saw that on Facebook. The Newcastle Herald is reporting it, so take it with a grain of salt. Don’t go off early there may, he ain’t gone until there’s something official.

Well you can't blame him I guess. Dugan and Ricky will probably be our centres for years to come.

Sucks but they are a losing club that has to pay overs for unproven players as part of their stratglegy. We should be glad that we don't have to.

No point sulking. Theres always gunna a team in a position to go all in for a player. You cant keep everyone. I think all fans need to realise that in this era, its all about business, local junior, or player developed here through the 20s means nothing when it comes to signing contracts.

I think its just that we keep losing our top outside back prospects lately.

Maybe they rate Tuiliagi as a centre prospect.

Or maybe, this was part of the Hodkinson, as in, we will pay 80% of Trent's salary if you withdraw your offer from Ramien. Long shot, but maybe.

Trading off a young exciting centre prospect for the sake of halves depth - I doubt that was the case although granted Flanno loves to save money where he can (i.e. other clubs funding)

Just a matter of being outbid by a club with spare cap, prob says to me if anything that ricky/dugan will be locked down for a few years with grey the depth for the centres. Flanno always has a plan

It's Xerri they rate as a centre prospect, hasn't played NYC yet but is already training with the big boys. They expect big things from him, more so than Ramien. Probably won't get a game this year.

Newcastle have cash to spend and need to pay overs to get anyone there.

i actually haven’t seen the greatness of this kid yet so I’m not super upset. That’s not to say he isn’t good, just from my very limited viewing of junior games I haven’t seen too much.
