There really isn't much reason for any of our top 20 players to leave and not extend at the Sharks as long as the money is within reason. Club is in a strong position and still building on and off the field. There is harmony and friendships within the playing group and an exciting new coach to play under. We should be playing finals each season for the foreseeable future and even challenging for a premiership.

Anywhere else they go is likely to be a worse place in multiple ways.

Ramien played a sensible game today, had his head screwed on and nothing silly. Left edge did most of the business in attack today.

Defense looked easier work for him after dropping the 10kg.
Still looks big and strong though. Hopefully this is his best season yet, looking forward to what he produces for us and is coming into his prime

I feel this will be his break out season. A simple game plan for Jesse will get the best out of him I feel. Can not wait for round 1!

I’d worry he loses some impact being a bit lighter on, not like he was overweight before. Still had some strength though hopefully most of what he shed was fat pressing against his brain and stopping him bending over to not land high shots

Yeah - if last year was his best so far, why such a drastic change?

Wiki has him as 98kg... Val is 90kg, so that's not a bad weight to be around for a centre.
I think Jesse could use an extra step of pace anyway and don't think the way he plays depends on being as big as a forward. I'm tipping it'll do him wonders

So if we assume that was his old 'playing weight' and he was a bit over during previous preseason (maybe 104/106) dropping 10kg from "this time last year" could mean he is around 94/96kg

I wonder if we identified fatigue as an issue for him and looked to trim him down a bit of excess weight

If you start Kayo stream and go about 35 seconds in he is in the middle of the screen. I'd say he still looks big across chest/shoulders and thighs, waist/stomach is quite slim, maybe a little off the biceps aren't massive?
So I'd assume it is mostly fat he has cut
He certainly wasn't 'fat' before, but does look to have a bit more of an inverted triangle going now.

I'll just stick with your description mate. I've tried picking horses using a similar method and it hasn't helped :)

Sounds like most of the squad has come back a bit more svelt and ready to roll. Suits the faster (ahem) game I'd say
