True, if it was him we'd probably still see a Williams/Colquhoun/McInnes spend some time there.
I do agree we shouldn't move Teig right so Wade might only see decent edge minutes if injury on the left, unless he is comfortable spending some time on his non-preferred edge
Start him on the right and he'll end up in the middle anyway.

Unless he's had a steering alignment in the offseason.

If hunt is out injured for round 1 this bloke for me gets the bench spot.
He looked decent again and I wouldn’t be upset at his selection (I’d pick him over Wade actually) but big Tommy would at least be worth a think about

I would be suprised if Wade actually gets many games this year.. I can’t see how he gets in over anyone else in our top 18/19

That would be ideal, but you just get the feeling Wade will be in the 17 somewhere.

Wade will start the season on the bench. Where he finishes the season is another story.

I’d give him a couple of games from the bench to show if he’s still got something. If not Williams comes in, who was impressive on Sunday. Only issue with that is Williams is more of a middle.

If Wade is on the bench he should only be coming on in the middle anyway. He came on at second row on the weekend but that was when we turned over most of our team. Teig and Nikora are both 80 min players IMO.

Sadly I agree.

Whilst it would be nice to play Wade, we just can’t afford to carry any player on game day. So unless he turns it around, I feel he misses more than he plays and Williams is going better in the type of bench role that we need.

Middle + injury cover for 6, 7, 11, 12, and 2-5 too if you move one of the back rowers out to centres.

Conversation isn't really "Wade versus another player". It is "4 forward bench versus 3 forwards and some injury cover". For the second option Trindall and (once healthy) Tracey also become part of the conversation.

I guess the question is would you actually want Wade as coverage over Tracey? On the bench or as 18th man?

Yeah I'd take Tracey. Pushing Talakai to the second row mid game is better than Nikora/Wilton to centre. Tracey gives you more coverage of positions too. I still think Wade will be there somewhere though.

I think Wade being a more legit middle if not needed to cover probably gives him the edge.
But I look forward to him playing middle and people saying we should be playing X instead, covering half and people saying we should have carried Trindall instead or pushing an edge to centre and people saying we should have had Tracey instead.

For covering 11, 12, 6, 7 - yes. I think Tracey is a decent 1-5 but a terrible half.
Tracey really does seem to make a mess of his shots at playing in the halves.
If you had Tracey and needed halves coverage, would you then put Brailey in and shift Cam to hooker? That's not horrible... maybe better than Wade in the halves
