Lots of things happen in a game. None of those mentioned made Nicho defend as poorly as he did.
Fatigue from defending multiple sets would have contribute, but yes, it was still a poor read and defence.

But I think borts point is that the others weren’t singled out as much for their mistakes as Nicho was by Cronk for his.
Which I agree with (no need to argue with me on this one bort 😉)

Yep the game was full of people making mistakes, only one is likely to be reflected against the guys reputation

I don't really care what the commentators say. I've no interest in the idea that poor wittle Nicho is getting picked on or whatever you blokes are conjuring up here.

Hope Nicho is taking lessons on how to get kicks into the in goal. The lines Nikora runs makes him the perfect target to replicate his easy try last night.

Its not about picking on him. Its the selective journalism. We saw it in origin. Nicho plays 11 minutes at centre, misses a tackle on Munster and was blamed by a lot of people for the origin loss. Conveniently overlooked that Cleary was fooled by the Munster show and go (literally munsters only play) but blamed it on the guy trying to make the last ditch attempt.

Before this test match, Fox had the articles of Nicho out for redemption.

Its a false narrative. He makes errors the same as others. Noone in the commentsry box was condemning the poor goal line defence when Ben Hunt went over from DH…

Cronk hammered him for letting in Nu Brown for his try!
“Terrible Defence from Nicho”

Seems like he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder does our Cooper.

Maybe he is jealous of Nicho’s hair and chiselled good looks!
Cronk is still dirty that he didn't get his grandfinal winning moment in 2016... though that's on Will Chambers, the Sharks are just collateral damage.

Nice to see Mick Ennis making up for Cronk.

Hopefully Nicho hasn't just been Connor Tracey'd in the Australian side

I don't believe Fox Sports, part of News Corp, would ever twist up a narrative.

lol who cares? Sorry, obviously you do. Perhaps why is the better question? It was **** defence that got called **** defence, what was or wasn't said about every single other thing in the game has nothing to do with it. I called 1 bloke a ******** today, I realise I missed plenty but he was still a ********.

How was the rest of Nicho's defence? Sounds like he did okay in attack.

Cronk wasn’t picking on him. Nicho should have played it better, especially knowing how much Nu loves a 1m try.

I’m sure we can forgive a debutant one negative play in a stint otherwise full of positives.

It seemed like a bit of a scramble too, it wasn't like it was a set play restart or anything.
Still not great D, but we've seen more established players in the same situation with the same result.

If no one made mistakes it'd be 0-0 after extra time.
Interesting proposition - is 0-0 the perfect game of rugby league?

Would the better team still win somehow as it’s not technically a mistake to just be beaten by a player who is a better or more skilful athlete?

Can you execute a play which leads to a try without anyone actually making a mistake?

It is interesting.

If I get everything right I can stop a better player, but if he also gets it all right his superiority should prevail. My 100% is a 7, his is a 9.
