Looking at things right now the way they have turned out the two biggest mistakes in Sharks history would have to be not resigning Johnny Lang and Brett Kimmorley. Is Barry Pierce responsible for both of these? How can you expect loyalty from sponsors and fans if you don't show it? Twice having finished one game from the GF we have ditched two of the prime movers getting us there in a fruitless and agonising shot for a premiership, both of which have now blown up in our faces. Johnny Lang went on to a premiership with the Panthers and Kimmorley has led the dogs back to the top. I'm sorry but imagine what could and should have been.

the way it has turned out i sort of agree with ya but i cant believe that someone would say that about kimmorley after the years of abuse he copped on this forum saying that he was absolute sh1t and that we needed someone else to lead the team...

The board and Barry Pierce are responsibe for many bad decisions in our club. Thay are also responsible for the allegations over the past month also. They are not transparent to us the fans and media. Ricky our coach has to be accountable also....Ricky as a coach inverts his players to the stage where their creativity is surpressed.... hence the pathetic defensive game that is presented to us week after week. Ricky Stuart was on of the best attacking halves to have played the modern game....he is continually having probs promoting an attractable positive game to the viewing public.

i think our woeful performances are due to the failure to resign either noody or de gois. given that sticky was always going to let the former go, he should have made de gois a higher priority. i know it meant forking out more cash but with no viable - really viable - alternative at 7 and 9 for this year, and maybe beyond, this has turned out to be the most significant decision of recent times. Our attack was questioned by all last year and while barrett is going well for us, we have no roll from dummy half and little direction from halfback meaning our attack is even worse in 09. it's been a long time since i've been so despondent about our game; i really can't see where our next win is coming from. go sharks.

I hate to say it but i think the Sharks were really complacent in your recruitment drive for 2009 after such a good year in 2008.
Too much responsibility rested on the aging shoulders of Trent Barrett & after you let Kimmorly go then a lot of responsibility was left on Brett Seymours shoulders as well.
That halves combination should never have been broken up & it's no surprise that the Sharks have lacked direction all year.
I dont want to bag anyone but Trent Barrett was not the saviour your club needed especially when the building process was in place in the Seymour / Kimmorly pairing.
If i was in charge of buying players i would keep an eye on Brett Sherwin or Nathan Fien for future consideration.

i agree, coog. barrett is still a good player but we left ourselves with only stop-gap solutions for halfback. it's frustrating after last year's performance. while i still think sticky is our best coach since lang, i really think he screwed up on this one.

if the sharks had resigned Lang and not got Anderson we would never had gotton Noddy,

I'd say at least part of that mistake would have to be put on Birdy right? I mean he was my favourite player but he had his chance in court and was revealed as a liar.

I mean i actually kind of blame him for our current situation. I think if he didnt do it then we beat Melbourne in the prelim, have less bad headlines (as he partly started our bad rep) and arent doing as bad this year as he is a great player. Brings up the point, is our entire bad situation all Bird's fault? :birdno :birdno
