The threads here and here go in to various ownership models at length, but the long and short of it is that the Broncos are different from the Packers in that they are publicly listed (i.e. their shares are traded on the ASX) and they can be bought, sold and (presumably) pay a dividend. Shares in the Packers aren't listed, they can't be traded and they don't give any appreciable return on investment.

Hahaha...I have to agree with that, although hasn't Bomo merged with Nowra Warriors now? Maybe that's not a path we wish to follow.

Yeah "The Shoalhaven Jets" I think they had some financial problems of their own. There has been talk of them splitting again but that's all it is ATM.
I hope they do. That's real rugby league lol.

During the dragons tigers game on qld tv there was about 5 adds selling /promoting Brisbane broncos shares....
I'm talking prime time tv during finals series.... Pisses me off to think of the marketing $$ they would of just spent on the adds... Everyone up here will buy some just to say they are a part of it..
I would buy shares in the sharks .. An private equity model run throughout a until trust which can essentially be a benefactor to the club ... Or have non voting right share or something,,, essentially all they have to do is figure out how to allow hard core supporters to inject some capital into the club... Or even options over future share issues..
