Emulate the Roosters? In 2009 they were wooden spooners. 2010 they also sported a new coach.

Lets not think bout the Grand final. Lets think about running onto the pitch in round 1 with the fittest, strongest, most well conditioned sharks squad we possibly can. Worry bout september if we make it there.

Its not about copying people, or how our squad compares with another. On the day, either team can win

hey i support my team no matter what, but i am exiticited about next year cause of carney, our improved bench which i think was lacking impact last year, de gois coming back, & our young players will all be better, i think we will have a good season. also i thought the comparision between the 2 teams was a valid one as the roosters team that made the grand final in 2010 & their 2011 teams were not much different except carney was missing for a large part of last season. sure they had a better back line but our forward pack is much better. so to me the whole point of this thread is to show anything is possible.

The Sharks will always be better than the Roosters in any possible way.

I dont like the comparison, yes the roosters made the GF but the stars alinged for them in that yr just like the stars have to align for any side to make it to the dance in 2012 regardless if they are the best team or not or the best team on paper.

i agree that other players will need to lift, but i disagree that the roosters side was better. both sides have different strengthens there was their backline & ours is our forward pack. the majority of the games we lost last year were by low margins. i also thought getting de gois back will add a lot to attack, as well as carney. i think our bench has improved heaps too from last year, kelly was good last year before he got injured & i think he will have a big year & there is more competition for postions in the team so that should bring the best out of the players.
i am looking forward to a good year for the sharks
