Just a thought...
We have had some greats in our 3 and 4 shirts.
I've always been of the opinion that 2, 3 4 & 5 look fantastic if they've got a good 9, 13, 6, 7 and 1.
At the same time, I don't want to discount the involvement of the 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Having a good bench is imperitive too.
Ok, so you guys will read that with a narky, "Well, that's the whole team you dufous!" and that is exactly the point I am trying to make.
The way the Sharks have achieved success in the past is via a complimentary balance across the park. It wasn't a matter of having this player or that player in key positions - it was about having a team whose individual playing styles brought the best out of each other.
What we're looking for is not y + x ... we're looking for y to the power of x
That is when the X-factor becomes significant.
