Also it went nearly 20 seconds after final bell. That last ditch defensive effort when the swept to left then back to right.

A snore fest? Pass. Apart from the fact we won, it was a **** boring game

Although it wasn't a high scoring game, there wasn't a lot of errors and penalties and a genuinely good contest throughout the game. Was a reasonable game for a grand final. I think often the GF qualifiers are better game than the actual Grandfinal.

Had a brief read of Cameron Smith’s book at the shops. He credited Cronulla’s first half for exhausting the Storm and himself, and they just didn’t have enough left in the second half.

He also said the Storm felt confident after beating the Sharks in the final round, but we completely changed our defensive plan/structure against the Storm within the space of a few weeks.

Straight from my playbook.

Dominate foreplay only to win the race to the end

I would be happy for any defensive structure at the moment, let alone changing it over a few weeks.

Just watched our semi v Canberra on kayo mini last night, can’t say I ever watched this game with fox commentary. Didn’t realise they were all onboard with Canberra’s second try being a no try when Joey (dumbass) knocked over barba.. I’m running with best sharks win in a final (excluding grand final) . no gal , wade gone early , them winning 10 games in a row scoring over 20 points per game , in Canberra , us having won one of our last 6. Will make a point of watching whole game over the weekend on kayo. Holy hell we were a epic team 2016.

Agree, phenomenal inspirational Victory. Totally unShark like in a Final under adversity. Hope became belief in GF berth for me after that game.

The first 20 or 30 mins of that Canberra final I was utterly filthy cursing how useless and permanently disappointing our club is, typical sharks choke at the business end in the finals ect ect. felt silly for getting my hopes up as usual. we looked rank. had that familiar sinking feeling of here we go again, we are done for the season (even though we had a second chance game the next week) we were way off the pace and I really wanted to relax the following week knowing we had already made the prelim. I was livid and heartbroken (especially after the PTSD of 2008 came back)

then Matt Prior scored a try and my world changed

But the following game against the Cows in the Prelim at the SFS was probably one of the most epic and enjoyable experiences I have had live as a Sharks fan. That night was off the charts, just one big party and the atmosphere was unreal.

You could tell from early on we showed up and the cows didn't and that the game was ours. But it wasn't until full time the relisation and excitement really kicked in that we were going to the Grand Final. Was also great to get one back against the Cows for how they defeated us in 2015 and yes I made sure to let them know we were going to ANZ and they were going home.

The GF itself wasn't as much fun (in part due to ****ty overpriced mid strength) and the atmosphere while big not the same united vibe or feel. it was all business, nerves and all but we got the result in a most un cronulla like fashion in the end and that's all that mattered. I was pumped at half time having the lead and how well we were playing I knew we had a real chance at actually winning this thing. Was always scared storm would blow us off the park in a final, first hurdle over now a anus clenching second 40 mins to come.

There were fans singing up up in the corridors at half time - I could not believe what I was seeing

then after ricky made that tackle was beside myself, just could not believe it was over and we had done it. Prob half thought is this real, did they make a mistake, did the NRL just award the Sharks a premiership?

Walked out of that joint sober, calm and collected (not what I had envisioned) but a life dream had been achieved.

I was best man for my mate the day after the Cows game.
Night of the Cows game he wanted to final try on and pick up of suits and then dinner and some drinks in town, all I did for the first couple of hours was watch the footy on my phone.
Sorry mate, your day is tomorrow, have to watch the Sharks now.
He was very understanding!

I would have told him I am no longer your best man, good luck tomorrow.

Mate you were an absolute animal at the cows game. You were blind before kick off. Then proceeded to get us all punted from the captain cook after the game.

Also you were filling your cup at the gf with the tray beer....

ABC Radio just had a replay of Andrew Moore and Matt Elliott's call of the Grand Final.

Exciting to hear it called on the radio and a good appreciation of how the radio commentators call the game.
