I think 90% of people will say neither, so I'll get the obvious in.

Smith was better at half, and Graham was better at 5/8 apart from that intercept. His try was a Barrett-type try.

We have nothing to lose now, we need a legit half - townsend appears our only untried hope.

Can we please stop the talk of Graham to lock. We have the Australian and NSW Lock in our team. We also have the NZ and World Champion Lock in our team.

And you all want to push them aside to make way for someone who isnt even tried there?
Idiots i swear sometimes you all must not think

i thought graham seemed more comfortable as 5/8, and smith wasnt as disapointing as i expected. he had a few really good kicks, still has a long way to go however.
graham looked very barret like playing wider, very unlucky with that intercept, could have been a totally different game if it wasnt for that try and the dropped ball no try by pom.

People said the same thing about Lockyer when Bennett moved him to 5/8th. Graham is a lock and that's where he will end up. Granted he played 2 great games last year at half, but he is still a lock/five eight not half/ five eight. As for Gal play him tight, whether he is in the 13,12,11,10 or 8, dragging in 3 defenders and popping short balls. When he plays wide he gets in the way.

Ive been thinking about this and IMO and if only we have a decent halfback replacement, I would put Graham on the bench as a ball playing lock and dummy half cover he could spell our backrowers and if we have an injury could cover there or the halves at the moment we have zero versatility to cover the backline. A bench of Vave, Cordoba, Graham, Toops is how I would line up, I really liked the idea of Toops as impact that is one area that Flanno got right Vs Souths

Agreed toops off the bench is a good idea and I thought Bukaya played well.

The Graham/Smith/Kelly/townsend issue is difficult.

I would prefer to Kelly at 5/8 (when fit) and townsend at half. Nothing against Graham but I do not see him in that roll. He is a ball playing back rower for sure,

Are there any decent halfbacks playing in the NSW Cup? This area has been one of our main weaknesses for a few seasons now and buying more forwards doesn't make the difference if we can't capitalize on the go forward.

In my opinion our club is not far away from capitulation - the structure of our play is acceptable for only the 1st 20 minutes - The quality of players is ok - when Dougie and Kade are benched we look very very ordinary. Loosing Luke and now facing loss of Kade.... we are in big big trouble as a club. The NRL renews the franchises at year end - will the Sharks be offered another 5 years ???? The NRL will way many factors crowds, debt etc and our club will be at the bottom of the list. The boys must be suffering and i feel for them.

I fear that you may be right. I have never seen a team have to work so hard to get no result.

We smashed Souths for 30 minutes. They were not in the contest but a couple of moments of class and are back in the game and we capitulated as the accumulated psychological damage of the past 3 seasons kicked in. It is almost as if the players thought - 'it doesn't matter how much we try we don't reckon we can win' and chucked it in.

There are other sides going just as bad as us at them moment but the difference is that we carry so much baggage that the impact is harder.
