Is it just me or did anyone else think he was the best player on the field? I think because there was no real standouts they defaulted to Cameron Smith for man of the match honours. There is no way Smith outplayed Gallen.

i was just about the start a thread on the exact thing. not being bias but i picked him as man of the match easy. i hate how they just default to captian. he was bloody awesome, great to see him get a try on debut. im supprised birdy had a quite game. but he was still solid. i hope they both feel well enough to play this weekend

well done lads

In Smith's defence I just reviewed his stats and he did make 50 tackles. I still think Gallen had more impact all the same.

Yeah, Bird played more of a distributing role tonight, fair enough considering that backline. A luxury compared to our backline, Birdy was probably cashing in his chips while he can.

Tackle and kick. I didnt see much else to warrant man of the match.

I thought Gal and Petero were by far the best forwards out there; Hoffman had his moments but I don't think Crocker did much to justify his selection ahead of Laffranchi.

im with u there megashark! petero and gallen easily best forwards!
i dont see why selectors keep putting kite in the team.. i dont rate him
and i dont see how laffranchi doesnt get in the team!

really disappointed in that game though! was expecting new zealand to do better
i think their halves did nothing at all
they should put luke and benji (once his back) in the halves and have halatau at hooker cause when he came on... his runs out of dummy half sparked the kiwi attack

I Have to say i agree with most of you regarding Gallen... I thought the MOM selection was unfair. and I just read most of the reports on the game online and Gallen hardly got a mention anywhere, other than his try... was i watching i different game? i thought he was outstanding, particularly in defence.

im just glad nobody seemed to notice him trying to eye gauge one of the defenders in the wrestle on the ground in one of his hit ups. The camera was right on it. just hope there is no review comittee for test matches.
