your kidding arent ya sandy?

if gals comes out and says he is commited to the sharks and to see out his contract then ill believe that of any pi$$ant journo trying to make a name for himself

Why are people making it Gal vs the media. The media reported what Gal was saying to people, Gal confirmed it but then said he has been working with the sharks board to mend fences. He also admitted to have not received 3rd party payments. I am not saying he is going but this isn't over. The 3rd party thing is what worries me, Wing and Gaz left for the same reason.

Hindmarsh works for a team like Parramatta that has a dynamic back line possessing the ability to create their own plays. Because of this, he has been able to thrive as a player who's greatest strength is his work rate.

Gallen, on the other hand, is a much much MUCH more creative player than Hindmarsh, which has often come in handy for a slew of Sharks squads that have lacked any real creative movements for a while now.

Both players play styles that are suited to the teams they play in. Hindrmarsh has more metres on his odometer now. Gallen still hasn't reached his best football yet. As much as I value Hindmarsh (and I really, really like Hindrmarsh, too) as a player and a good club man with the capacity to keep his nose clean...there isn't a chance in hell I'd swap Gallen with him or any other player in the NRL right now.

i have high respect for hindy but would have gals over him any day.

I'm with Gilligan on this one.

For the thread starter; Hindmarsh had a sore toe and sat out a crucial match for the Eels in 2009. Gallen could hardly move his right arm his shoulder was so buggered and still played his guts out for a mob so close to the bottom of the ladder they still had one foot on the ground.

Show 'em some Four Nations stats as well.

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, omg, I havent had a good laugh for a while, so I would like to personally like to thank the parra supporters for giving me a good chuckle.

I have never, ever, ever seen hindmarsh single handedly "impose" himself in a game so much that you sit back and say "holy sh*t!!" Yes his statistically he impresses, especially defensively, but I have never, ever seen him break the line, run someone over and storm across the try line.

Gallen on the other hand breaks game after game wide open, he has defenses sh*tting themselves each game, and he also has opposition attack terrified because they dont know what is going to be grabbed in the tackle... thier balls.. thier eyes....

Gal is the best foward in the game.

Hindmarsh might have centimental value because of his 300 games or whatever, but on the field, gallen would destroy hindmarsh.

Hitman – agree with the imposition comments wholeheartedly. Again I refer to one of our glory games from last year’s disaster. Sharks defeat Raiders yet again (haven’t lost since 03) I sat there in the members box with the Furner clan jumping up and down when a ‘one armed Gal’ scored the match winner.. ahh what a great day it was, I watch the replay often, and continually replay when my bro in law comes over. hahahaaa

Ultimately, whilst I would love to see them both in the black, white and blue, I would never trade Gallen for Hindmarsh - or anyone else come to think of it

well said, couldn't agree more.

Gal !!!!! The bottom dropped out of my world when i heard that Gal wanted to leave us, simply because he is the best back rower in the world atm, easily.

He was the only forward in the tri nations to create second phase play.....by far !!! He stuck it to the huge pommy forwards and belted them all over the park.

Thank god he has committed himself to the Sharks for next season, with Gal leading our pack we can take on any of the other 15 Nrl teams up front no problems next year. Hindmarsh and Watmough are world class players but i will be happy to stick with the raging rhino that is Paul Gallen.

P.S. Can't wait to see Mason get smashed by our boys in round 1 2010 !!!! :lmao

you lot are kidding arent you [beside the fact both are 2 very different types of players]..id kill for gallen to belike hindmarsh...more work horse, less f*ckwit

cant compare 2 very different types of players

I agree with Peachey and Sandbagger - no contest - Hindmarsh by a landslide , ask any nrl club chief executive who they would rather and i'm sure Hindy would get the nod any day over Gallens .

On top of that off field Hindmarsh does a bit of good work in Africa - a good will ambassador .

That was the most expensive piss in history - will wipe a hundred grand off Gallens's next contract lol

Don't forget Hindmarsh is 30 whereas Gallen is 28. I think they are both on similar pay. But if the sharks where to sign Hindmarsh you could really only get 2 decent more years out of him. Thats if he was to leave the Eels, which he won't but if he does he won't come to the Sharks. But there is nothing wrong with hypotheticals!

I think i prefer Gallen tho, as long as he has an incident free 2010, cause otherwise his position might be untenable, just like young Jake Friend's was.
