I think that we should blood Pickerd, good player and has a very good footy brain on him, He is also off contract this year as well and I know his Dad is looking around to see if there are any offers.

Complacent thought mate. If you think Parra are going to be easy, think again.

Would you rather trial a junior against Melbourne or Brisbane? I think not, whilst it might sound like a "complacent" thought, in reality this is an opportune time for us to introduce someone into FG

there will not be a better opportunity imo. parra rose to the occasion at home against manly but played the 2 worst games this season either side of that

To me it's an easy decision, just switch gards out for pickerd and minimise the distraction for the rest of the team. From what i've seen pickerd is atleast as safe as gards in defense and is a good support player.

ike is still out and I wouldn't want to throw him straight into FG without a game under his belt. Stapo is still out for a few weeks. Hotdog would be the next in line after pickerd for me and then there is carney but that would mean disturbing our spine majorly.

Agreed!!

Given Gordon, Stapo & Mills will be back soonish....

Now seems like the perfect opportunity to blood Pickerd,

1) We are on a role so this should reduce pressure
2) If he doesnt excel, then Stapo, Gordon or Mills can take over the reins in a week or 2
3) This bloods a junior for a short stint
4) It means keeping the team the same as it has been, with minimal disruption

Seems like a heap of reasons to give this guy a go....

Agree on everything.

It is a good game to blood him BUT hayne has a massive spiral bomb and they have some good general play kickers so maybe not the best team to play first up defense wise.

Still think we should chuck him in, I don't think flanno is a massive fan of him at fullback though so I don't think he'll be picked.

i know this might sounds crazy but i'm just asking a question (before any of you ******s try to rag me out).

Graham...could he ever be a fullback? After recently seeing Inglis ruling at fullback, i was wondering whether someone like Graham would ever do good at the back. He's a solid dude which makes him a bit tougher to handle than a ragdoll like Gards, we know he runs great lines which would be damaging if he was up in support, he gets tricky little combos down with the halves (his try on saturday for example), his defense ain't too bad. I know he's been good coming off the bench into the second row, but do you think this could be an option at any point? Has he played at the back before?

i'm not talking about now, i'm talking about in the future. could you back up your opinion with some reasoning?
Graham has the build and skill set to be a lock not fullback. He is too slow for a fullback, can't see him being safe under the high ball and he isn't light enough on his feet to be able to step and dart thru gaps or step around players. He has been outstanding in his new position

No. Never.

1) His best 4 games ever have been the last 4 weeks in the back row
2) He's just not a fullback
3) Please don't compare him to Inglis (when Inglis came into FG they moved Slater to the bench for a few games because Inglis was so good at FB. He became a 5/8 and then a centre simply because he couldn't play FB in that team long term).

My pick is Pickerd, he knows his way to the line!

won't happen though, he will be another junior with boundless talent lost to another team...

If we lose Peachey I will be so pissed, he is such a good player, definitley will be a star at No.9

Um, here ...

i know this might sounds crazy but i'm just asking a question (before any of you ******s try to rag me out).

You didn't say he's as good, but you implied that Inglis to fullback was a venture into the unknown like Graham would be. The situations are not similar in any way. One is a guy who always played fullback until he played FG and the other is a guy who has never played fullback and has just found a niche in the back row. I guess I could have posted "the Inglis situation and thw Graham situation are not comparable" but you know what I mean.

... and while I appreciate the complements, the fact of the matter is that you asked a question - and I answered it. Chances are someone was going to give you an answer you didn't like. Remember, we're all Sharkies fans. We're supposed to get along :)
