Because it'll only resize on uploading.

Also resizing small images to make them larger is a bad idea.

Basically I'm pretty sure if you upload a big image now, it'll automatically make it avatar size for you. It'll scale it down to the maximum height or width.

Ah, right. So people just have to go into "Setting" and reload their avatar, right?

I actually took a bigger image and made it smaller, is that OK? 'Cos it looks pretty good, I thought. I assume making a smaller image larger would degrade the quality of the pic?

Yeah basically it works like this.

If you have an image smaller than the maximum size, it will stay the same size.

If you have an image exactly the right size, it will stay the same (this is what you did).

If you have an image that's too big, the forum will resize it to make it the right size (so you don't need to manually do this yourself).

It just makes it easier, means you don't have to edit the photo before uploading it.

And yeah small images made bigger look crap.

Ah, thanks mate. So people just need to load the picture they want to get the updated size.

Yeah, pretty much they can go to google image search, find an image they like and download it, then upload it to the forum.

In fact I think they can even just copy and paste the URL to the picture and that'll work too.

If the image is to big it won't do it for you. Bt just put the image in MS Paint and rescale it in there.

And yes you are correct about the quick reply thing

Oh and MB are you the only one atm with 150x150?

All admins have it. I just did it that way to test it out.

I've been thinking about making a sort of rewards system where people who do certain things can have a bigger avatar or whatever.
