So de gois plays 80 or you want Gardner in hooker?

Well I'd have him at FB. But if that was seen as too much of a risk, I'd bring him on for De Gois and follow Gal and Co up on every hit up

I'd prefer Frizell there. He played centre in rugby. Even his Sharks player profile lists him as Centre/Second Row.

Bukuya played centre as a youngster too. My reasoning was that he's been playing on that side of the field all year, he knows the defensive patterns and he's reasonably experienced at NRL level.

I agree, seems more mobile in defence too. Friz is a good player but he's a lot bigger than he used to be.

Bukuya has form as an 80 minute right edge player.

I would rather Leutele though.

Agreeing with what slide said, you have to do some sort of video/ tactical work on what the opposition is going to throw at you, who their danger players are, what they do as well as their weak players and how to capitalise on their deficiencies.

It's not rocket science the players can handle the info.

a quote from an interview with Gal..sums up my point ...note the highlighted words..

“We’ll just going to go out there and do our job and worry about what we can do and hopefully we’ll be right and maybe the week after we might get something in Sydney.

anyone who thought i was suggesting to go out wiht no game plan or to not go through the usual tactics and vid stuff is wrong.. its is simply the focus must be on the sharks and what they do not the raiders! and i am sure the raiders are doing the same...

Why does it have to be one or the other?

All teams will focus on the opposition as well as themselves.

To suggest they only do one of the two is bordering on ludicrous.

Going out there and doing the job encompasses playing to a game plan, which would be derived partly based on the oppositions strengths and weaknesses.

They intend to go out there and do that.

It doesn't imply that they won't be basing the game plan partly on what the opposition does.

Its pretty easy to accommodate a game plan to suit another teams strengths.. that's what the lead up to every game would/should be.. the game plan for your team and your oppositions weaknesses are as important as each other...

If storm are playing Sharks one week, and Souths the next, the game plan is to;
Sharks: Kick the ball down field, whoever gets it, gets it, tackle them
South: DON'T ****ING KICK THE BALL TO INGLIS!

and when teams are playing the sharks, they don't run at the forward in attack, they slowly make their way out to the backs and then stretch them across the field for a direction change... they know our backs are our weakness... unless its goal line defence, then you just go straight through the middle!

You just proved my point.

It's easy to bitch about them but like it or not they're the best we have available.

1. Wright
2. Williams
3. Best
4. Leutele (assuming Poms is suspended)
5. Stapleton

That's the best backline we can use on Sunday.

Or would you prefer

1. Gardner (Just returning from injury, no idea what form he will be in)
2. Mills (Same as Gardner)
3. Best
4. Leutele/Pomeroy
5. Gordon (Play good one week, sucks for the next 5)

I would prefer the second list :)

well if they had a brain in their head they should, they're all different players, what planet are you from?

They are all **** so what difference does it make?

good teams worry about themselves and their own performance not other teams and their roster..obvioulsy looking at our roster we have no 'game breakers' to bring in so i bet Furner couldnt give a dam about who we put it... your comment is stupid!!

Glad someone got my point

i totally agree- we made the 8 and its open season on our coach and players..makes no sense!

Probably cause we could have finished so much higher on the table but instead in classic Sharks fashion we fizzled out in back end of season and made things much much harder for ourselves. Flanno has done great to get this team to the finals but there is no good reason we have to travel to Canberra in elimination final instead of playing a second chance game from top 4 position. I'm glad we made the finals but dissapointed after being one of the front runners earlier in the year. If we lose on the weekend I won't just sit back with a smile thinking we had a great year, cause it would be a mediocre result. We cannot assume we build and build every year, there is no guarantee we make the finals next year.

MB has got it

that quote is nothing. it's the classic footy player talking to the media. "we do our job. the boys. our job. the boys. opponents are a good side, we have to focus on our game. the boys." etc.

What about all the dribblers on here bagging Flanno for picking an extended squad.

Go check all the other line ups boys.

I'm pretty sure besides the Broncos, everybody has picked 18-20 players.

Some of you guys just whinge about everything.

I was refering to flanno doing this all year. We're also usually the last team to submit a team sheet Tuesday arvo.
It makes me think he's indecisive.

we've been juggling a swag of injuries and also have a whole bunch of piss poor bordering mediocre players vying for positions. that's justification enough. and who cares when he names the team? does it affect you or anyone?

Have we ever been the last team this year?

I don't think so.

It's normally the Tigers.

Do people realize that the only reason teams are named on Tuesday night is so that the Big League can be printed.

If we are playing on Sunday is so bad that the team is not quite finalized by Tuesady night?

It could also be the fact that he does more work than any coach in the NRL and successfully prioritises things that are actually important.
