..what ****s me is that we have just made the finals for the first time since 2008 and all that most posters in this thread can do is bag our players... FFS! you would sware this thread is on the raiders website due to all the bagging going on....

i love to hear peoples suggestions and possible line up changes (no matter how totally stupid they are) but lay off our guys hey..!

for whats its worth i think we all know that flanno is probably gonna stick with a very familiar looking side for this one and hope we grind out a win..

and some of your guys need to remember what your days jobs are as you sure aint coaches!!!

well if they had a brain in their head they should, they're all different players, what planet are you from?

good teams worry about themselves and their own performance not other teams and their roster..obvioulsy looking at our roster we have no 'game breakers' to bring in so i bet Furner couldnt give a dam about who we put it... your comment is stupid!!

You don't think good teams analyse oppostion players and target their obvious weaknesses?

..after 26 rounds slide i think they know pretty much all they need to about eachother!! besides you hear it all the time from all sports at the top level...the key is to focus on things they can influence and control...their effort -state of mind - preparation-attitude-belief etc...it all comes down to this one game so why waste enegry worrying about what the other team is doing..or what the ref's may do..

I have never heard a coach ever say they are worried about what the other team are doing! (never) they all say the same thing about focusing on themselves...and for very OBVIOUS reason! (as its your own performace that matters)

cant believe some of the suggestions, throwing people inot positions they haven't played all year.. we've got to the finals with the team we have now, lets stick with it.. Having said that, I'm half keen in the idea of Gal stepping into Prop, and having Ross, Tupou, Graham and Morris off the bench..

Poms WILL be suspended (im betting 4 weeks), so Leutele is the only option... The only reason we need to bring Boogs or Frizz into the centres is if for some reason best can't make the game...

1. Matthew WRIGHT
2. John WILLIAMS
3. Ricky LeuteleLEUTELE
4. Colin BEST
5. Nathan STAPLETON
6. Todd CARNEY
7. Jeff ROBSON
8. Bryce GIBBS
9. Isaac DE GOIS
10. Ben ROSS
11. Jeremy SMITH
12. Andrew FIFITA
13. Paul GALLEN
Bench:
14. Anthony TUPOU
16. John MORRIS
17. Jayson BUKUYA
18. Tyson FRIZELL
20. Wade GRAHAM

I just don't know who to drop from the bench, my brain says Boogs, my heart says Frizz

So cause they say something in the media that means its truth ?

no... you are correct.... however you must have never graduated past little league if you have never had the coaches speeh before a big game about bringing together all the things you worked on and developed during the offseason and season... about putting your best effort in and focusing on doing your job to the best of your ability...and not worrying about the opposition are going to do because if we play our game we will will...

im not saying they arent talking tactics about the raiders but the focus is definately on themselves and putting in their best performance... very simple / common stuff!
last thing you want to do is send players out with a head full of stuff that will take their focus away from doing the things that got them there in the first place...

What about all the dribblers on here bagging Flanno for picking an extended squad.

Go check all the other line ups boys.

I'm pretty sure besides the Broncos, everybody has picked 18-20 players.

Some of you guys just whinge about everything.

Yes, that's an important mindset to be in, but they should have a game plan based around containing the threats and exposing the weaknesses of the opposition. They have video analysists at most clubs that spend hours looking over the strengths and weaknesses of players. If they are only thinking about what they are going to do, they are only doing half their job.

That's not to say that their main focus shouldn't be on their own performance, but it should be about how they are going to implement the specific game plan to the best of their ability.

Agreeing with what slide said, you have to do some sort of video/ tactical work on what the opposition is going to throw at you, who their danger players are, what they do as well as their weak players and how to capitalise on their deficiencies.

It's not rocket science the players can handle the info.

Yeah I think everyone knows this.

Weird discussion point.

Yeah, I think it would be more about tweaking what works rather than inventing an entirely new game plan or philosophy each week. They might just hit a certain edge more often, kick to a particular corner on the last, or try to isolate a particularly good opposition attacking player.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see one J. Bukuya line up at right centre. Wouldn't be the first time a coach has gone with his most mobile backrower in the threequarters for a big game. Lewis Brown last year, Alex Glenn for the Broncs... I remember David Stagg playing in the centres for in the '06 granny.
I'd prefer Frizell there. He played centre in rugby. Even his Sharks player profile lists him as Centre/Second Row.

That Mccrones head, irritates me, i'd like to see one of Gallens or J Smiths sneaky knees or forearms fix him up early on!

The risk of playing Gardner is the same as being as the risk of having Wright or Gordon back there. Has to play.

Disappointed to see no Nathan Gardner in that squad, we need his X Factor. Even is he came off the bench in replace of Morris
