1 Dogs v 4 Manly and 2 Melb v 3 Souths
5 Cowboys 6 Sharks 7 Raiders 8 Brisbane


Manly to beat Dogs and Storm to beat South
Sharks to beat Raiders and Cowboys to beat Brisbane

4 Manly and 2 Storm have the week off

Sharks (winner 6 and 7) play Souths (loser 2 and 3)
Cowboys (winner 5 and 8) play Dogs (loser 1 and 4)

Sharks to beat Souths and Dogs to beat Cowboys

Next round - Sharks v Manly and Melb v Dogs

So we I make it we are on the good side of the draw if Manly and Souths both win this week and Souths finish 3rd. It means we play Canberra and Souths to play Manly or Dogs for the grand final !

When you put it like that, like we just have to beat the Raiders, Souths then Manly, it's definitely possible. We've had good wins over all three clubs this season.

Pool 1 - 1 4 5 8
Pool 2 - 2 3 6 7

But .....

After the first weekend, the losers of the top 4 matches cross over to the opposite pool.

So going by your predictions, we would be playing the Dogs in week 2

Correct. The point of the cross-over is to avoid the same teams playing each other twice (excluding the GF)

Nope, the lowest they can finish is 5th, and the lowest we can finish is 7th.

Really would like to avoid going to Canberra (it's a *****hole for one), imagine the momentum the Raiders would have... We would have lost to the Cowgirls, they would have beaten the Warriors, scary thought... Not to say we couldnt do it, but it would be testing!

You would actually find Sharks would play 7th place then the loser of 2 and 3 Melb vs Souths which would be Souths ! Then play the winner from 1 and 4 Dogs or Manly to play in the grand final.

Schedule-wise, I would expect the following. It may change, but this would be the most likely scenario. It gives top TV billing to the higher ranked teams. We will likely be playing Saturday night (at SFS or Canberra)

2v3 on Friday night
5v8 and 6v7 on Saturday
1v4 on Sunday
