Pretty average
Been a Sharks fan for 30 years, living over an hour away with 2 kids under 5 has made getting to game a little tough in recent times and this was my first game since the 2013 season.
Thoughts were as follows:
1. Great to see a crowd, I believe there was 14,000 there last night, it looked and felt great.
2. Good halftime entertainment with a massive Dance performance, not unlike College NFL. Half time flew (We're learning).
3. The volume of the ground announcers speakers in the Peter Burns stand were unbearably loud, when trying to get organised prior to the game (particularly with kids) its soon hectic.
4. Hot Dog from the specialised Hot Dog stand was tops.
5. Pie my daughter ate (against my advice) looked shocking.
6. Beer lines were long (probably as a result of the crowd being up)
7. Merchandies stands well staffed with lots of variety.
Last but CERTAINLY not least......
8. PARKING !!!!! The removal of the car parks on the old practise fields and the clearway on Captain Cook Dr past the club where everyone used to park either side of the road has spewed cars our all across the district. We arrived in the area at 4.00pm (5.30 game) we spent 25 mins driving looking for somewhere to park where we wouldn't need to be piggy-backing the kids back to the car at the end of the game. Eventually settled and parked halfway to the railway line then walked for 20 mins.
In Summary, Loved the big crowd and thought it was handled pretty well once inside the ground however the parking situation is a mess. The kids had a ball particularly my daughter who is 6. If we got off the couch to go again we'd definitely get there at least 2 hours before the game, the parking is ridiculous and need improvement, hopefully this will be delivered in the new development.
