I didn't really take any interest until my mid teens in the 90s so most of my players are from that era forward. Was tough putting Stevens in as he threw a drink in my mrs face before he found God, and I couldn't leave Ritson out cause he was a bit of a cult hero before he left for Parra and had the unfortunate injury. I used to seem him at the RSL a fair bit and he was always a nice bloke.

And thanks Gumby for the reminder of Nikau, I probably would have forgotten him if you hadn't put him.

Found this in an old article re Wicks.

Too much of a wildcat to ever really control, Wicks was a rugby league talent but, most conceded, he was struggling off-field.

The one they retell most was when he swam across Gunnamatta Bay when, on a whim, he just had to see Jack Gibson.

Jack opened the door to see Wicks standing there wearing nothing but Speedos and a knife. The blade was in case of shark attack.
