With the difficulty of posting my top five favourite players I came to thinking what my favourite line up would be.

Mine would be:

Other players very unlucky to miss out would include M. Reick (Couldn't have him over Best or Rogers ), N. Long and B. Kearney.

He sure did!

I reckon he would've played between 15-20 first grade games over the course of a few seasons in the early 90s.

He lived down the street from my old man's place at Wanda and my Dad (who would've been around 40 at the time) used to surf with him pretty much every week. He was a favourite of mine as a result and I used to love watching him play in the U21s and Reserves. Then one day he got a call up to play first grade against the Steelers in Wollongong and - wearing number 33 - the little fella made his debut off the bench, having starred for the U21s earlier that day.

It was tough for me to leave out Hatch, Lee and Russell. I loved Danny Lee when I was a kid, ditto Barry Russell, who was my first ever autograph.

Hatch, speaks for himself, but I was probably just a tad too young to appreciate a great workhorse like him, so I picked guys like Greenhill and Kearns ahead of him as favourites. He would certainly make the bench in my greatest Sharks team of all-time though, behind Gallen, Miller and G.Pierce.

I remember reading in an old Rugby League Week or Big League mag, that Hatch once made over 100 tackles in 48 hours. He'd played in a mid-week rep game (City v Country maybe?) and made 50-odd, then backed up two days later and did the same for the Sharks.
