It's so predictable when that happens. Star player heads for what they think are better things, run into the team they left behind and get spanked.
Karma's a bitch like that. :)
On another note, what's goiong on at Wolves? That's UTD, Citeh, Chelsea and 'pool they've all rolled now. From the bottom of the table. If I were Arsenal I would be worried about the weekend. They've got Wolves. (Maybe a 5 goal lead will be enough this time....:borat)

Five-game ban for Ferguson
Last updated: 16th March 2011

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been handed a five-match touchline ban and £30,000 fine by the Football Association following his criticism of referee Martin Atkinson.

Ferguson had been charged with improper conduct by the FA after questioning Atkinsonfollowing United's 2-1 defeat at Chelsea at the start of the month.

He was unhappy with Atkinson's failure to show Chelsea defender David Luiz a second yellow card for a trip on Wayne Rooney before the visitors scored a decisive penalty and United then had Nemanja Vidic sent off.

"You want a fair referee, or a strong referee anyway - and we didn't get that," said Ferguson to MUTV in the aftermath of the game.

"I must say, when I saw who the referee was I feared it. I feared the worst."

Ferguson had opted to appeal the charge and, speaking prior to United's FA Cup win over Arsenal at the weekend, stated that he had truth on his side.

Aggrieved

"I felt aggrieved and I now face an FA charge for what, to my mind, was simply telling the truth," he wrote in his programme notes.

"I will be defending myself strongly when my FA appeal hearing comes up.

"In fact, I am looking forward to the challenge because, to my mind, I have not said anything out of place, however much the media urge the FA to take action."

However, the FA has found Ferguson guilty of the charge and the long-serving United boss has been hit with five-game ban from the dugout.

The length of the ban is in part due to the two-game suspended tariff he had hanging over his head for questioning the fitness of referee Alan Wiley last season.

The ban does not come into force until Tuesday 22nd March, so Ferguson will be on the touchline for Saturday's game against Bolton Wanderers.

He will then be in the stands for the Premier League matches against West Ham, Fulham and Everton and he will not be allowed in the dugout for next month's FA Cup semi-final against arch-rivals Manchester City.

Currently, the last game of the ban would be the Sunday 1st May showdown with title rivals Arsenal, although that could change depending upon when United rearrange their postponed fixture against Newcastle United.

Manchester United sink Chelsea at Old Trafford needing only a draw to claim their 19th title

Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Old Trafford to leave themselves on the brink of a record 19th Premier League title.

First-half goals from Javier Hernandez and captain Nemanja Vidic clinched a deserved victory which means Sir Alex Ferguson's side need just one point from their remaining games against Blackburn and Blackpool to clinch the title.

Afterwards a delighted Ferguson backed his side to finish the job.

"Knowing the players, they won't muck it up," Ferguson said. "They'll get their point. There's no doubt about that."

Man-of-the-match Ryan Giggs admitted United were tantalisingly close to clinching the Premier League, a championship triumph that will see them pass Liverpool as English football's most successful club.

"It's a massive step forward," Giggs said.

"Mathematically it's not done yet, but we're nearly there. We've just got to finish the job next week."

Giggs, who is on course to collect an astonishing 12th Premier League winners medal, said supplanting Liverpool would be a "great achievement."

"Fifteen or 20 years ago you'd have never thought it. It's a great achievement by the team and the manager to overhaul our biggest rivals of the 70s, 80s and 90s," the 37-year-old veteran added.

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted his team had never recovered after Hernandez opened the scoring after just 37 seconds.

"We lost the game in the first minute. We started so badly. Conceding the goal in the first minute, it was very difficult to come back," Ancelotti said.

"United played better than us and deserved to win, this is football and we have to accept this."

Chelsea - whose lone goal came from the boot of Frank Lampard - had clawed back a 15-point deficit to leave themselves only three points behind United heading into the heavyweight encounter.

But the reigning champions were blown away in a devastating opening period which saw United take a 2-0 lead within 23 minutes, Hernandez scoring in the first minute to trigger delirium at Old Trafford.

South Korean international Park Ji-Sung surged into space from midfield before sliding a pass through to the young Mexican international, who nipped in behind David Luiz and slotted past Petr Cech.

It got better for United in the 23rd minute, when a short corner routine saw Park feed Giggs, who jinked past Salomon Kalou before whipping over a cross for Vidic, who shrugged off Branislav Ivanovic to nod home.

The double strike left Chelsea reeling although the Londoners did have their chances to get back in the game, United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar blocking Kalou's close-range header superbly.

The veteran Dutch international was pressed into action again soon afterwards, blocking a long-range Luiz shot with his midriff.

Lampard gave Chelsea hope on 68 minutes, prodding in from close range after Ivanovic knocked down a deflected Ramires cross, but United were not to be denied.

Earlier Sunday, Arsenal were eliminated from the title race after slumping to a 3-1 defeat at Stoke

Couldn't believe my eyes when Javier went through with the the first goal. Then after Vidic scored I fell asleep assured that we had the title locked up.
