I’ve stopped watching Man United games for the sake of my mental health (not exaggerating, Man United is genuinely affecting my mood). But I feel terrible for Amorim, no matter who he puts out there and what he does, these players just can’t get the basics right, passing, defending, basic goalkeeping. Amorim must feel like he’s in hell.

It certainly felt like that for well over an hour again. Just smashed - on and off the ball. Lucky to only be 2 down in all honesty. The lack of energy and intensity in this side just baffles me at times. It's like they all take mogadon tablets about 30 minutes before kick off.

Yeah don’t blame you. The club needs to stick solid with Amorim and give him time. He will do good things

There is the view that UTD have overspent on bad players over the years but a pundit recently made the point that they have brought good players into the club that have subsequently lost their confidence and become bad players at UTD.

Amorim will do what he can to turn things around but there might be deeper issues at the club with culture, systems ect.

After years of watching City denying Liverpool that was a nice surprise today. Hopefully we can see this through from here. 7 of our last 11 are at Anfield so that certainly helps. Fixture list is pretty crazy this time of year though with UCL games and EFL cup final to come.

No 'might' about it. The Florida goblins have well and truly f**ked the club over. They let a bunch of banking mates run the club and showed no interest in actually doing much of anything except take their dividends. The training grounds were given a lick of paint every now and then, the stadium was left to rust away and a culture of apathy and 'as long as we get paid it doesn't really matter' was allowed to spread throughout every part of the club. Utd have forked out over a billion pounds already in interest payments since they took over and the club is still a billion pounds in debt.
Fergie just about kept a lid on it while he was still there but once he left the decay accelerated almost overnight and we are now in an unbelievably toxic nightmare where, yes, even good players can quickly succumb to the sense of despair. It will take a long time to change it as the damage is everywhere now and Amorim (and INEOS I guess) are desperately trying to turn around an oil tanker that has run aground.

A billion pounds in interest is utterly insane
And its a massive club too with stacks of revenue streams and they are in this situation, damn

Spurs fans accuse their owners of something similar just running the club as an investment not a football operation but I guess the difference there is they do have a brand new stadium and are turning a profit although the stadium was apparently built for NFL and other events primarily lol

Try being a Leeds fan, we've been through far far worse over the last two decades.

We could head that way.
Doubt it, you haven't had the financial meltdown we had at the turn of the century.

Man United are far too big to go through what we did as if that club were to go up for sale tomorrow you'd have every billionaire lining up on Sir Matt Busby Way to buy the joint.

Unfortunately for us when we went down in 2003/04 we ended up missing out on the big money that went into the Prem since.

Very highly unlikely to reach the heights of the late 90's, early 2000's again with this FFP stuff which prevents clubs from doing a City.

Still surprised Newcastle's takeover got approved.

Apparently he didn’t see eye to eye with Berrada (CEO). Its coming out that the tipping point was the choice of manager, Ashworth wanted Southgate (which automatically puts him in the wrong as far as im concerned). Also with him, Berrada, Wilcox, Sir Brailsford, Blanc and Erith (Performance Director), it might of been a case of too many cooks.

Edit: I forgot Chris Vivell, the director of recruitment.

Crucially, Sir Jim simply thought he wasn’t doing a good enough job.

I keep seeing people mention the transfer business as an issue, I actually thought this window was quite good.
De Ligt’s been very good.
Mazroaui’s been one of the deals of the season.
Ugarte’s becoming a key player in that midfield.
Yes Yoro’s been injured, but he’s one of the most promising defenders in world football.
Zirkzee’s really the only one who hasn’t really settled yet.

Could have used more outgoings though.

Looks like Chris Vivell is the new permanent director of recruitment and will report to Jason Wilcox (not sure what his job title is, but it’ll probably be similar to a Director of Football). He was only brought in on a short term deal last June, but he’s impressed INEOS enough to be given the gig full time, he specialises in these deals for the ‘project’ younger cheaper signings with good sell on values (which is essential to get PSR under control). The Dorgu, Obi Martin, Kone and Heaven deals are his handiwork, which is an element of player recruitment which United have quite frankly neglected for over a decade. Vivell’s work with the Red Bull stable of clubs speaks for itself.

There’s a lot wrong with United at the moment, but a decision like this is a very small step in the right direction.

Quite a few teams are getting so many injuries this season, thaink thats bad, try being Arsenal haha, Saka another 8 weeks, Havertz, GJ, G Martinelli, Ben White etc. We've had minimal front line players originally, now 3/4 of our frontline are out injured haha. Arteta didn't even bother to sign a forward during the January window haha.
If they give Arteta funds for a striker, he would probably spend it on another CB or DM anyway. Way too obsessed with defending and then relying on set pieces.
